Genesis has kidnapped both spiderman and Wolverine to make them his new horse men of the apocalypse.
in his failed attempt to rebond wolverine with his adamantium he created a feral creature who is consumed with Rage, pain and vengeance for whats bn done to it.
the Explosion Caused the nearby equipment to malfunction and interrupted the mutagenic experiment with peter.. causing his unstable arachnid DNA to take over and transform him into a Man-Spider not the result that Genesis was after.
Logan has escaped and has bn hunting down and killing the Darkriders inside the citadel... the last conscious thought of peter as he is consumed by the spider is to stop wolverine from murder as he escapes his experiment capsule.
Ahhh, now I get your post, I completely forgot about the time one of the Spider-men transformed into this thing only remembered the episode about Parker transforming.

if he could logan would still heal instantaneously his HF was out of control at this stage completely skeleton re knitting and organ regeneration in under the time it took to cause the injury was the same time it took for it to repair itself.
