"Daniel," Simon exclaimed. He hadn't really seen the guy since their return from NY. "Tori, this is the guy I was telling you about. Daniel Springfield. Another fairy-tale guy who helped out in NY. He used to go here when we were all just students."
"Yeah, he looks a little familiar," Tori responded. "Nice to meet you, though. But I have a little bit of business to cater to so I have to cut this short. I'm sure Simon could keep you entertained, however," the Cyborg smiled. She winked at the two and then went about her business.
"You'll have to excuse her," Simon blushed. "She doesn't know how to keep her mouth shut. You're hungry? I could totally go for eating again. It could gives us some time to get to know each other. You know, on account of you being a potential new member of the team."

This day just got better, Greg thought to himself when Sam sat just a row beneath him. And then she smiled and waved at him. He didn't need anymore invitation. He slid down next to her as nonchalant as possible. "Hey, Sam. Nice weather." Then he mentally cursed himself for such a blasè topic. "Let me backtrack. How are you on this fine day?" He was feeling like such a dink. He was never flustered by anyone. He felt the temperature rise and had to calm himself before he made it an uncomfortable day everyone. As he calmed himself, he felt the slight rise in the temp return to normal. He smiled at the. All of he training was payoff beautifully. He glanced at Sam to see if she noticed anything odd and realized that he WAS being odd.

"Oh, look, my favourite speedster," Vincent said, looking up at Zero from his place on the ground. "How are your legs? Actually, don't tell me, I can see for myself." He got up. "Just give me two more minutes, and I'll be ready." Vincent began walking around the field to stretch his legs again, and noticed some people sitting on the stands. In particular, he saw Sam, the Strikeforce girl, being chat up by a random guy. He snorted. *Fat chance, sport.* he thought. The mage had been around to witness Sam walk out of the restricted part of the hospital so many times, that one would think she was sleeping there, in the hopes that her presence alone would finally rouse Strikeforce's leader from his coma.
Vincent had visited Leon Astra himself. He had noted with curiosity the way the boy's protective casing shook with immense power whenever he appeared to be having a nightmare, as well as the almost liquid-like metal casing that covered his right arm, and refused to be moved, even by the teacher's best efforts. Vincent had then turned, and saw another room, with another boy inside. This one Vincent recognized, if only barely.
Liam looked awful. Everyone knew about the permanent scarring caused by the burns he received in Russia, but very few people had seen the monkey boy like that. Now, with only the bottom half of his suit (which Vincent noted was made of the same metal as the thing on Leon's arm) still functioning, everyone who visited could see for themselves the large patches of bare skin where normally grew a thick mane of pure white fur, and the red raw burn marks that covered every inch of exposed skin. "What the hell had happened in New York." Vincent has said aloud.
He shook himself from his daydream, realizing that he must have looked silly, staring off into space. "Well, I'm ready," he called out to Zero. "Show me what you got!"
Zero had been doing tricks with the ball that she had picked up watching videos on the internet and as soon as Vincent said ready Zero had kicked the metal ball hard to the right as if she was as if she was passing it to someone, she then vanished from her starting spot only leaving a blur trail behind her and the suddenly was kicked into the air. Zero didn't stop moving as she jumped into the air and did a front flip kicking the ball hard, the ball was speeding toward the goal with only Vincent to stop it. It would be hard to see but The feline girl had a smirk on her face like if it had already went pass the Vincent.

Sam giggled at the nervous boy, she was used to the lower classmen being like that. For some reason she was very popular around school and everyone seemed to like her. Sam just smiled and answered, "I'm well and the weather is perfect but more importantly how are you?" she asked hoping she didn't sound to cheery nor fake. Her social skills weren't too great and the reason why she had been so liked.

Daniel picked up his book and was greeted by none other then Simon and a woman that he had remembered from school, Daniel smiled at the familiar faces and returned they're greetings with a "hello" but he was interrupted by Tori when she said she had business to take care of and something she said made Simon blush and it made Daniel nervous. The mage messed with the hair in back of his head and smiled, "Yeah I'm starving, I had forgotten to eat in the last couple of days," he said laughing weakly. Daniel took the lead and started for the buffet he grabbed a little of everything and headed for an empty table waiting for Simon before he started eating.
A golden hand flew out of nowhere, stopping the ball in its tracks. Vincent appeared behind it. He hadn't teleported, as that would be a violation. The golden feet he was using as substitutes where faster than he remembered. Of course, he was nowhere near as fast as this girl. He was glad she was on his team. It was almost like trying to outrun Mrs. Brok.

Zero landed on her feet disappointed that her shot missed but that is what you'd expect from such a great player like Vincent, "Lucky block, lets see if you can handle a faster strike," she said with a smile and grabbed another ball then set up for another try. (one short post deserves another )
Vicent smiled. He raised one golden hand and shot the ball out of the Zero's control with a bolt of magical energy, without actually touching Zero herself. The ball flew behind the girl and rolled into the opposite goal. "Luck my foot," he said, grinning.
"I'm fine," Greg replied. "A bit miffed that I can't play cause of my powers but what am I gonna do about that?" There was a pause in the conversation as he was figuring out something else to say.
He cleared his throat, "So, I take it you're a fan of the sport. You come and watch everyone practice almost every day. I never woulda thought a girl so ladylike would be interested in such a brutal sport. What with all the injuries due to the metal ball and the occasional fights and blood and other stuff." Then Greg thought about it.
"Oh, right. You are a member of that Strike Force team. You go on missions and save people and stuff like that. So this is pretty much a cake walk from you, eh?"

Simon grabbed another two trays of food, this time, holding one with a tentacle of darkness and followed Daniel to a booth. He couldn't wait to quiz the man on his life. If he was being honest with himself, Simon didn't know
why he was so infatuated with Daniel. True, he was an extreme flirt, which most people knew of Simon, but he was so in love with his mate, N'Xsus that he didn't want to de with anyone else. He flirted because he was cute and that was just who he was. Plus, he liked to see people flustered. That was always funny.
As the two sat done in a booth, Simon tried to figure out why he was so smitten with Daniel. Sure, he was handsome but so was Ben and Andrew. Even Jordan was handsome in that tough guy way and Tech was cute in a geeky way. But he never crushed out on any of them. Maybe it's his accent, Simon thought to himself. Accents were pretty high up there on the attractiveness list for a lot of people. Simon chased the thoughts out of his mind. He would have enough time to figure it out. Daniel wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. He hoped.
He leaned on the table, staring intently at Daniel but also very reassuringly, and said, "So, tell me about yourself, Mr. Springfield." He started munching on some baby carrots absentmindedly, not paying any attention to his food whatsoever.

Zero started to pout, she atleast wanted to make one in on him before the actual game but figured that the goalies would not be as good as Vincent. The cat girl got another ball and started juggling it with her legs, "so I can't score on you lets see if you can take the ball from me," she said with a smile. Zero was attitude had change she seem happier and acted more her age since she started playing foc/cer and also she hadn't gotten in a single fight the whole week, it was a record.

"Well, it's never easy to see a friend injuried." Sam paused, thinking of Leon's and Liam's broken bodies. Sam blinked hard and slightly shook the image out of her head, "but I'm here just in case some thing bad happens." She felt that she was being too grim and wanted to lighten the conversation, "but yeah this game looks really fun and I would play too but teleporting is ban but it's fun just to come see my friends play."

Vincent grinned, standing completely still. A golden hand suddenly shot out and snatched the ball from the air as Zero was juggling it. It flew through the air and landed near Vincent. "Well that was easy. Let's see if you can do the same." he said, as he ran off, keeping the ball low so that he didn't make the same mistake as Zero. He dribbled across the pitch, using his feet, real and golden, to protect the ball. *This might as well be a team practice. Well, no one else is here, but still.*
"Oh, you have friends playing? Could I ask who?" He thought of that cat girl who was out on the field with Vincent, the prodigal son of the sport. There than that, he couldn't remember anyone else Sam watched specifically.

Ben was impressed. He wasn't a technical kind of guy but he knew when something was bad ass. And this van was definitely it. All the sophisticated technology and defense mechanisms. It blew his mind. Whoever was going to be on this new team was going to have some fun with this tank.
"I have to say, Blayze. This is pretty great. I honestly think you gave the rookies better stuff than we have," Ben laughed. "I'm sure that you will school the entire team on how to drive and operate this machine because that goes without saying.
Then he looked to Andrew, "So, who do you have in mind for this team? I know how you work, Andrew. This foccer game serves more purpose than just a recreational activity. You are scoping out some students and some have already made your list. You just want to see if they have further potential. Am I right?" He folded his arms in wait of the answer.

Daniel tried to not talk with food in his mouth so he ate fast, "Well, there's not much to tell. After I left Hero High I traveled the world learning different kinds of magic and helping when ever I could," Daniel manage to say. He hated talking about himself and even more hated talking about his past, he tried so very hard to forget the past. Before his mood got heavy he turned the question on Simon. "So Simon, What about you? You must have some interesting stories being the Strike Force mentor," He said with a smile before taking another bite of his food.

"Hey, no fair I wasn't ready yet!" She yelled and chased Vincent down and stole the ball using her super speed then she passed the ball down the field to herself then kicked the ball into the goal. Zero threw her hands up in victory then started to run around and screamed "GOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLL" like they did in the YouTube videos that she watched.
Sam watched Zero being a dork on the field, she seemed really happy, the happiest she'd ever seen the cat girl. Sam couldn't help but smile then turned her attention back to Greg, "Well Zero is a close friend of mine, although she'd probably not admit it willingly, but I would like to think that every one here in Hero High is my friends and family, even if we some times don't act like it." Sam watched the kids on the field run around playing and it made her envious, "Man I can't just sit here and talk any more, I want to do something." Sam said restlessly. "Hey would you mind having a small sparring session with me" she asked hoping she wasn't being too forward.
Greg blinked, quite dumbfoundedly at that. "Sparring session? You mean like fighting? Fighting you? A member of Strike Force? I'm no fighter. And even if I were, you'd whip my tail ten times over." He then laughed out loud. "I can't believe a beautiful woman just asked me yo fight with her. I can't believe that I just told her shed beat me good, too."

It seemed like Daniel didn't want to talk about himself. He got all twitchy. He'd have to figure that out later as well. However, he couldn't pass up a chance to expound on himself since he was asked.
"Well first and foremost, I'm a flirt. A HUGE flirt. Just to get that out of the way," he started. He winked at Daniel and smiled coyly just for dramatic effect and then continued. "Let's see...I came here when I was sixteen on a count of my dad being a shadow creature. My parents figured that this was safest place for me. I came out to them at the same time they told me about my dad and myself. They were cool with it so that was great.
Then through a series of events, I became sort of a king in my dimension, the Shadow lands. That's where my dad's from. They love me there and I love all of them. I'm committed to my mate, N'Xsus. He takes care of things on my absence and is pretty apt in the affairs and politics of ruling and guarding an entire dimension. I'll have to take you here sometime."
Simon continued with his background, telling Daniel about how he took most of the students of the original school to his dimension when earth was invaded; his subsequent exclusion from becoming a hero and being held back a grade; his friendship with Ben; how he became Strike Force's mentor; his powers and whatever else he could think of.
The way he was going, Daniel didn't have a chance to say anything. Once Simon started talking, all anyone could do was nod or interrupt him. He also didn't realize how long he'd been talking. The caf was almost empty and the sun was starting to set. "Gosh, I've been talking for a long time. But you did ask. Now I have a couple questions for you, Danny. I can call you that, right? That wasn't one of the questions, though. I want to know why don't you want to tell me about yourself. I wouldn't judge you and I'm gonna find out anyways," he smiled. "I have my ways in achieving that."

"You don't miss a thing," Andrew said. "Yea that's pretty much it, except this time around, lets hope no one dies."
"Got it," Blayze called out. He had been punching in a long sequence of codes to unlock the van. It slid open silently. Inside were a bunch of comfortable looking seats, all with protective harnesses hidden away at the sides. The fancy seating however was distracting from the real surprise.
"Those are models," Andrew said flatly, looking at the 'equipment' that was crammed into the sides of the van.
"Give me another two days, and they wont be," Blayze replied. "Anyways, let's step inside, I'll give you the tour."
"I do like the indoor decorating," Andrew muttered, looking around.
"I decided to divide the seats up into specific job areas," Blayze continued, ignoring Andrew. "Navigation is up front next to the driver's seat. Communications will be the seats behind them. Then there's the doors. Defense will take up the next two seats, and lastly surveillance at the back. There are, or rather there will be, screens on the back of every seat, as well as VR goggles, communicators, emergency medkits, All that jazz. At the very back there is a small equipment room, with all the standard stuff, and a small bathroom. In the event of an emergency or a stakeout, there will be enough rations to last a month. If you have questions or requests ask them now, and I'll try to add them in before we unveil this thing."
"The game won't wait for you to be ready," Vincent called out as Zero ran around the field like a maniac. "It's not a game of patience. Remember, there will be eleven people chasing after you when you have the ball." He retrieved the ball, and stood just outside his own goal line. He tensed, preparing for one of his better techniques. He lined up his target, did a small run up and kicked the ball with all the force his artificial foot could muster. At the same time, he used one of his golden hands to fire a bolt of magical energy at his own foot just as it connected with the ball.
The small explosion knocked Vincent onto his back, but the ball went flying. Over Zero's head, curving slightly, and all the way into the opposite goal. "Now THAT'S a goal," he said, grinning at Zero, getting up and giving a little bow.
Sam felt so embarrassed what a stupid question to ask some guy she hardly even knew, she stood quickly and felt her face get hot. "I'm so sorry I didn't mean anything by it, I shouldn't have asked." she said quickly and bowed her head then vanished too embarrassed to stay there anymore. She appeared in the training, it didn't look like there was anyone in the room so she relaxed a bit, "Whats wrong with, am I a boy trapped in a girls body?" she said picking her hand up and looking at it. She never did her nails cause they'd get messed up anyways if that had a mission and he usually kept her hair in a pony tail so if she had to fight or run it wouldn't get her her face. Sam sighed shaking out the thought and walked up to the panel, she put in her student number and pressed her thumb against the screen for it to scan. As a member of Strike force she was allowed to use it without asking permission but was only allowed to use a couple settings, she put it on single member and set the mode on save the civilian. The room morphed to warehouse and in the center was a woman wrapped in chains and hanging over a vat of molten hot magma. Sam sighed, the woman dangling from the roof was in a skimpy outfit and you could see her panties, she also had bleach blond hair and big boobs, "I bet this is Blayze and Techs favorite type of woman," she said assuming they wrote her programming. A loud robotic woman's voice could be heard, "Ten minutes until termination."
Sam didn't have time to think about it anymore cause robot men started to appear and attack, there was about ten of them and they all had a force field around them so they would be about to take a hit and keep coming. Sam focused on the one that was closest shadows spilled out from her and until they covered her, she shot forth her hand and a black ribbon came out slashing at the machine. The force field held up but it looked considerable dimmer, she struck it again and the barrier shattered. Just before she struck again another robot came from behind and attacked, Sam was able to put up her own force field but it wasn't strong so the enemies arm went straight through and hit Sam right in the face causing her to stumble back a bit, she wiped blood off her lip and shot a ribbon at the weakened robot and this time it impaled her target she picked it up of the ground and slammed it against the others, she continued to swing it around like a wrecking ball until it exploded against one of its own take it out. Sam then gathered energy while the others were down and released a giant pulse of shadows taking out the rest. Sam rubbed her lip embarrassed that she let herself get hit, "Guess I still need work," the shadows that formed around her started to fade away when she heard something coming from behind her she turned just in time to see a giant round drone thing fire off a giant laser at the civilian. Sam teleported into the air and put a force field around her and the woman, this time it was made of light so it was strong enough to withstand the giant blast. "Alright you ****er time to join the others," she said already irritated. Energy wings of black shot out of her back and again shadows surrounded her but this time it looked as if she had become a shadow then five black orbs appeared around her, she stretched her arm out and gathered shadow energy to her faced out palm. The drone was also gathering energy and it seemed to be done before Sam cause it fired first, Sam released her own attack and the orbs fired as well joining and reinforcing Sam's main blast, it was so powerful that it forced back the drones blast and shattered the drones force field and completely destroyed it.
The loud robotic voice could be heard again, "Time is up, releasing hostage. Thanks for playing and have a nice day!" it said then the woman was dropped on Sam's force field. Sam helped the fake woman up and teleported her out of the chains, the woman instintly armed her arms around Sam, "My hero!" She said then gave Sam a kiss on the lips then the room turned back to normal and the woman vanished in sparkles, Sam put her hand over her lips where she had been kissed, "What an odd program," she said then her hand begun to glow and her lips started to heal, the shadows also begun to fade slowly. Sam felt better now having got her exercise, she logged out of the training room and left. she was hungry and wanted dinner before it got too much later. ((that was longer then excepted >< ))

Zero scowled at Vincent, "Can't you let me have my moment?" she said grabbing the ball. "Hey I'm starving, want to go get some food?" she asked hoping he'd say yes. Zero woudn't admit it but she liked the foccer star and wanted to spend as much time with the guy as possible before the vacation was over and classes started up again.

Daniel listen to every word of Simon's story, he was such an interesting fellow that it was hard not to so he didn't mind that he couldn't talk but then he sighed when Simon asked about his past again. "Yeah, Danny is fine, my friends called me that...well my only friend," he smiled thinking about that memory but then his smile faded. "I wasn't alone, traveling around, well not till recently. I actually traveled around with my fiancée, she was my closest friend, she also attented this school. Her name was Sara, she was a wolf feral, so it was safe to call her feisty," Daniel said smiling again but something but he seemed sad at the same time. "We did every thing together..." he stopped and blinked hard trying to fight back tears, "but she left me...that's in the past now, mind if we talk about something else?" Daniel took a moment to regain his composer, "so what is there to do around here for fun?" he asked to try to lighten the mood again.
Gaku began walking around looking for Mr. Brok till he came to the training room where he was with zero and Yukari. But it seemed like someone was in there training with some type of program. Gaku looked through the window and seen Sam he watched her as she trained thinking to himself god she looked so beautiful. Gaku watched as Sam saved the civilian and was given a kiss he felt pain to see someone kiss her like that even though they weren't real. Gaku started to leave out heading towards the lunch room when he heard Sam coming out of the room so he waited outside to speak to her. Gaku lean't against the wall till Sam came out and he took a deep breath and called out her name. "Ciao Sam umm can we talk."
"Sure," Vincent replied, taken aback slightly. "We'll have to pack the equipment up first." He grinned. "Where are we eating?" he asked, mentally listing some of the many restaurants in the city, as well as some of the nearby fast food places. Eating in the Academy's dining hall was after, boring. The only thing he had enjoyed about his time away from the school was the food, whenever he could afford it or at the very least work for it.
Sam was caught off guard by Gaku, she totally didn't see him until he called out to her. Gaku sounded nervous and that made her feel uneasy, she walked over to the boy and nodded, "Hey whats up?" she replied cautiously.

Zero grind at Vincent, "No problem, I'll be done quick," she said before running around collecting all the equipment and putting it back where it was supposed to be and she collected all the balls and put them away and packed them in the room with all the other stuff and slammed the door close. After every thing was put away Zero ran back to Vincent, "hmm, where else would we go? the school cafeteria has all the best food." She said basing her opinion from crappy food they fed her in the lab and food she found while living on the streets.
Gaku was able think up things quick but it was hard for him this time till he took a deep breath and found his calm wind. He wanted to ask her out and seeing as he usually had the hook up on places he was able to figure out what to say. "well I'm pretty good but I was wondering if you would like to come with me out to eat and catch a show so we could have some fun also we could get to know each other. I wanted to ask you cause I thought you were nice. At that moment Gaku whispered and beautiful really low kind of hopping she didn't hear it but didn't mind if she did.

Greg cursed silently to himself. He didn't mean to run Sam off. And he hated teleporting powers. He'd never figure out where she'd gone. He shrugged to himself and left the bleachers. The foccer players were leaving the field and he had nothing else to do. He decided to go work out. He made his way back to his room, changed into some gym shorts and a tee-shirt, packed a towel, soap and change of clothes in his backpack and made his way to the rec center.

Simon was sorry that he asked after seeing Daniel's reaction. Why would someone leave this guy, he thought to himself. Again pushing thoughts out of his mind, he answered, "If you mean within the school boundaries, there's the rec center with all kinds of sports and a fully gym. Or there's the training facility for practice in the use of powers and/or skills. I don't think you'd want to go to the cafe but they do have some really good bear claws. But that's all the school really has.
"Outside its boarders is a really popular club but I can't think of its name right now," Simon chuckled. "There's also a movie theatre, mall, arcade, laser tag, parks, mini golf and a bunch of fast food joints just to name the close stuff. When he school hooked up with the governments, they provided us with some cars.
"Only the staff and Strike Force are allowed to use them without permission. In order for anyone else to use them, they have to rent them and pay for anything that happens to them with the exception of running out of gas. They also have to have them back before nightfall if they are under 18 years of age. You know, the standard stuff.
"So what are you feeling like?"

Sam was caught off guard again by Gaku, what could she say, she knew it took a lot of courage for him to ask her by the look on his face and she couldn't say no and crush the poor guy. Sam straightened up then smiled, "sure I'll hang out with you tonight," she said choosing her words carefully.
Daniel thought for a moment with his hand on his chin then suddenly felt very tired, "Actually I feel like going to bed. My energy spell is wearing off," as he was speaking dark circles began to form around his eyes and his face began to pale a bit. "Along with ignoring to eat I ignored sleeping, There's just so many fascinating books around I can't seem to put them down" he said laughing. Daniel stands up suppressing a yawn and lifts his trap up, "Anyways we should hang out some other time maybe go to the cinema or something or even night bowling, I heard that was pretty fun."
