I'd go for team one. Midnighter hits a brick wall with wolverine. Its a guy he cant casually dismember or break the bones of. When faced with someone highly invulnerable in his own series, his powers spazzed out IIRC.
He also hasnt beaten almost any established characters either and lacks feats against quality oppositiion.
