not enough info on the sword to make a call. it is a weapon that it was said to be superman's destony to wield. it gave him god-like powers (omniscience for one, apparently) but there was next to nothing else shown save some narration. he turned the sword away because he wanted to remain earth's protector instead of becoming a god.
its limits are unknown and so any posts will be 100% speculatory.

as leonidas said the only actual power that I can think of it granting superman was supposed "omniscience" Im sure it carries some other magical powers but none were shown that I know of so for now I say Superman gaint the ability to see in advance Odin incinerating him.

We have a fair few feats for the sword besides omniscience. It awarded Supes omnipresence as well.
There's a precrisis respect thread somewhere with all the respective abilities of the sword.
