Satanico Pandemonium (From Dusk Till Dawn)

Salma Hayek as Satanico Pandemonium.

As mentioned in my Seth Gecko respect thread, From Dusk Till Dawn is still the shit. On one end, you got George Clooney as Seth Gecko.

On the other, you got Rodriguez alumna Salma Hayek portraying the head vampire herself, Satanico Pandemonium.

Satanico wasn't born bad. She started off as a dhampir (human-vampire hybrid), the daughter of a hangman (Temura Morrison) and High Priestess Vampire Quixla (Sonia Braga, aunt to Alice Braga). Esmerelda, as she was called, was spirited away by bandit Johnny Madrid, who led the hangman on a wild goose chase to the future Titty Twister, which is operating as a brothel.

In a chain of events, Esmerelda underwent a vampiric ceremony which turned her into Satanico Pandemonium. Years later, Satanico would meet her end at the hands of Seth Gecko, who shoots down a chandelier to impale her...but not before punching Seth's lights out for shooting her.

Trivia: Satanico gets her name from the 1973 Mexican cult nunsploitation flick Satánico pandemonium (obviously Robert Rodriguez is a fan), in which a nun has a dark side inch includes sex and being influenced by Satan.

This is the first Rodriguez film in which Salma's character dies in. The second is Once Upon A Time In Mexico.

Yep. I concur.

Its literally impossible to hear "After Dark" and not think about her in that scene.

Anytime I've covered the song live, people have always refered to it in conversation afterwards as "Dusk til dawn" or "That tune that was in From Dusk til Dawn" evn pointing out which scene it was in..... but never referring to the songs actual name directly...and rarely able to name who did the track.

Tito and Tarantula who actually did it, were ****ing awesome.

Testament to the indelible nature of her sexiness.
