Sure, they might mostly be civies-with-powers, but they're still massively stronger than a Centurion. It'd take a dogpile of Centurions to take one down.
And then you have a few Kryptonians who *do* know how to use their powers, like Zod, against whom Nova Prime is the only answer, and there's only one Nova Prime.
