Well, I don’t think we can really judge properly if being a master of multiple forms is better/worse than customizing own style. Whatever.
Ok, Maul beat Bondara (supposedly a guy with impressively high skill in lightsaber combat). He beat Qui-Gon, who was considered to be one of the best swordsmen of his generation. Starved and strained Maul almost put an end to Sids.
