I thought emo Spider-man was hilarious. He is supposed to be a shmuck at that part of the movie, you aren't supposed to think he is cool... he is the only one who does. That's the entire joke.

Just to clear that up,I was referring to domestic box office.its true that sm 3 made the most money worldwide but domestically, they made less money in each sequal.Thats the important figure is how they do domestically.
There have been movies made that have been failures domestically, but worldwide they were a smash hit but moviegoers dont consider that, they only consider it only successful if it does good domestically.
That being said, like I said before,I dont think it will do very good domestically here in the states especially since it is being released so soon.I hope I am wrong obviously, but I just dont see that happening.
I love it that they are doing it right this time and rebooting it.That was very much neccessary.I just dont like it that they are doing it so soon.
Like i said earlier, even when they did the smart thing and rebooted Batman with Batman Begins wwhich was also a very much neccessary reboot as well, even though they appropriately waited a long time before they rebooted it,many movie goers STILL thought it was just another sequal to the other Batman movies and it did not do so well at the box office.
Thankfully since were in a day and age of of movies being quickly released on video soon after they leave the theaters and are on cable as well ,people then realised it wasnt just another sequal and itwas totally different than the other Batman films and started figuring it out through word of mouth, that it WASNT just another sequal and was a reboot and started watching Batman Begins and once they saw how it was such an excellent film, appealing to Batman fans as well as the average moviegoer, they came back in droves for The Dark Knight and it was a smash hit success making far more money than Begins did because word of mouth got out how great Begins was.
Thats what I am hoping for the next spidey film.I dont expect this one to do very well at the box office because of how soon it will be coming out and how many movie goers will probably think its just another sequal but after it goes to DVD and cable, assuming its an excellent movie like Batman Begins was, they also will line up in droves eagerly to see the next spidey movie at the theaters is what I am hoping obviously.
Im going to cross my fingers of course and hope they dont think its just another sequal to those other spidey films and realise this time its a reboot and that it has the same kind of success The Dark Knight did obviously.

He's not the only one. Many true Spiderman fans hated the movies.
IMO Only S2 was outstanding.
S1 was Ok. But it just didn't satisfy me. The Green Goblin's mask was terrible. There was nothing amazing about the action sequence between Spidey and Goblin.
Spidey himself was boring. He's supposed to be a stand up comedian when in that suit. And again with his intellect. It's supposed to be a big part of the character and yet they didn't use it at all.
Even in the old 70's Live action series his intellect was used more. That version invented his own webs and Spider tracers.
I can't believe in 3 movies Ramai's Spiderman could not even make Spider tracers.
Oh but they said he was smart.. Yeah great.
S2 was awsome though. And I wouldn't have minded S1 at all as the start of an awsome trilogy, if they didn't mess up S3 so badly.
Don't even attempt to defend that! It was just utter stupidity.
What they implied in the trailer(which is also how it was represented in the comic and the 90's animation) was that we were really going to see Spidey's dark side.
Instead what we get was a Geeky Spidey THINKING he's cool.
We get a completely pussified hero who bursts into tears like a baby when MJ dumps him. We get MJ stupidly dumping him just because Harry threatens him. I mean HELLOOOO.. He's Spiderman, he can take care of himself!
And then there's the random villains popping up all over the place.
Sam Ramai ought to be shot, for not only making that the 3rd Installment of Spidey, but for conning us all with the trailer!
It was awsome! Unfortunately Marvel cancels good cartoons for no reason. And replaces them with kiddy shows (Don't bother watching Ultimate Spiderman. After watching Spectacular you'll cry worse than Peter Parker does in S3).

SM1 and 2 are two solid superhero movies; despite their age, they stand-up to and even surpass more current films such as Captain America and Thor, imo. People just need to let the organic-shooter issue go, not only are they in the comics, but it a way it makes more sense that a mutated human with spider-powers got them along with his other powers, than some kid who can't afford a $1,500.00 car making something that hi-tech.
This new film is looking better and better though, hoping it surpasses SM1 and 2 in greatness/entertainment value.
I agree with S2 being awsome. And although I agree they did a good job with the Spidey Origin in S1, I'm not the only one who got kind of bored through the second half of the movie. There was nothing amazing about the Spidey/Green Goblin show down. I expected more.
On the other hand Spidey vs Doc Ock in S2 Rocked. Plus the side story of him losing his powers, and struggling maintaining his job, it just all worked fabulously.
But like I said if S3 was done properly I would have been very satisfied with the Trilogy.
As for the Spider webs, I don't buy it. It worked in the comics all those years, I don't see why it shouldn't work in the movie. That kind of thinking is what always screws up comic book movies!
Also was it too unrealistic for him to make some damn Spider Tracers?!
Here I totally agree.
I just hope the audience doesn't feel it's too soon for a reboot.
