No death of Gwen would be a good one! Tragic is the personification of her death.
Painful, tragic and full of eventual rage. well.....if that's what you mean by a good death.
I hope the series doesn't rush into it either. If this crap ends up being a trilogy with her dying in the 2nd, introducing Mary Jane in the 3rd I'll lose my shit.
Emma Stone was the best thing about this movie. I was expecting so much more.
Maybe I'm too judgemental.
"The Daemon lied with every breath. It could not help itself but to deceive and dismay, to riddle and ruin. The more we conversed, the closer I drew to one singularly ineluctable fact: I would gain no wisdom here."
No it would be stupid just like it was in the comics.Mary Jane was a b!tch and stuck up wild party girl and airheaded whore in the comics.Pete would never stoop down so low to date someone like that.Mary jane should have died in the 2002 film, that would have been the greatest thing sony could have done in that movie.
Well 10 years later anyway. 5 years will be too soon.afraid your right about Gwen though. The fact her father died already just like i thought he would,i think you can put your life savings on it that Gwen will die in the next film.marvel must really have hate towards the stacys.
Just saw this movie on the fourth.Plan on seeing it again today. This movie is 100 times better than those crapfest Raimi Man-Spider movies.Better than all three of them COMBINED easily.Unlike those crapfest Raimi films, there were far more postives than negatives.Matter of fact there were few negatives at all I would say.Matter of fact there are only four things for me that stuck out that I did not care for and one of them was a leftover from the Raimi films. The constant unmasking of him.
I remember once upon a time the good old days when The Green Goblin was the only one in the world that knew his identity and that was what made him his most dangerous foe. Those days are clearly overwith as long as sony has their grubby little hands on it.They wont let Webb make the movie the way he wants to make it.Seems like that is something sony insists on keeping in their films.
The only other three things in the movie I did not care for was when he was startled and jumped to the top of the ceiling on the subway. That was stupid. If they wanted a shot of Pete upside down while as Peter Parker they could have had that done while he was at home.Have something fall off his desk to startle him and make him leap to the celing, something like that.
I also want Rosemary Harris back as Aunt May.Sally Field is obviously worried about staying young forever and getting old the fact that she feels the need to dye her hair. She is more concerned about still looking young than she was about portraying the character properly and looking the part. She has the Roger Moore thing going.Like him, will probably keep dying her hair when she is in her 80's also.Dennis Leary is too young to be Gwens father as well. The actor that played him in Man-Spider 3 should have been brought back as well.
Finally I did not like it that they excluded the wrestling scene.I did not mind that JJJ and The Daily Bugle was not in this movie and unlike some other fans,I wanted to see the origin story told again because it was imperative that they did it RIGHT this time. They screwed it up so badly in the Raimi films that as long as they got the origin story right this time I was all for it cause it NEEDED to be redone again cause they did not do it right the first time around in 2002.The 2002 film was such a joke its not even funny. Well I wasnt too happy they left that part out but like i said, there were so many more postitives than negatives this time around I was able to overlook that.
At least they didnt have him refusing to stop the burgler because he wasnt paid what was owned him.I wanted him to say out loud when letting him go something like-for now on,nobody pushes me around anymore.I only look out for number one now, myself.
I was dissapointed that wasnt in there but it still worked though the way they did it showing his Uncle paid the price because he didnt think that was his responsibility.thats the IMPORTANT thing they got across from the comics so I can live with that. Because they made those mistakes I give it a 9/10 instead a 10/10. It wasnt the perfect spider-man movie I would have liked to have seen but it was much closer to the kind of movie I expected to see in 2002 and was robbed of.
Since it wasnt the perfect spiderman movie leaving out the wrestling scene and and the continuation of the unmasking as always, instead of ranking it as the best comicbook movie ever,I rank it as the second best comicbook movie ever.Easily the best spider-man movie ever made.hands down no contest.Far better than the crapfest Raimi ones.
as any true fan would. Its 100 times better than all the crapfest Raimi spider-man films combined!!! Not the perfect spidey movie by any means, but far closer to the kind of spiderman movie that SHOULD have been made back in 2002 but we were robbed of.
It helps that they actually had a good actor playing Peter Parker this time.Andrew Garfiled is a far better actor than Tobey "gomer pyle" Mcguire easily.hands down,no contest.Mcguire must have special connections in hollywood or something.thats the ONLY thing that makes any sense. That guy couldnt act if his life depended on it.
Every movie I have seen in he always sounds the same. His voice makes me cringe everytime I hear him talk.He was about the worst casting choice possible for Peter Parker.
Garfield is by far a much better actor.Unlike Mcguire,he is flexible and very versatile. He made me believe that was Peter parker brought from the comics to the big screen the same way JK Simmons made me believe that was JJJ brought to life from the comics to the big screen.
They did not betray the source material like Raimis movies did.Other than Gwen and Capt Stacy finding out his identity which is a leftover from the Raimi films. But hey,at least they didnt have Gwen kwowing Peter since kindergarden.
Those kinds of things just totally betrayed that crapfest 2002 version. thats all a bad dream and nightmare I have woke up from finally. Just like all the batman movies made before Batman Begins were all a bad dream and nightmare that I woke up from when Batman Begins came out,This movie erases all that nightmare and bad dreams I had from that horrible Raimi version. That was all a bad dream and nightmare I have finally woke up from as well.the bad dream is over.

If they try and reboot Batman in a couple years like you two are talking about they will fail miserably. For one thing they waited the appropriate time when they did the reboot for Batman Begins. They waited a long time,8 years before they made a new one.Plus the other Batman films were all a disgrace to the comicbook so they had failed up till that point to make a good Batman film.
Well Now thanks to Nolan,we have at LEAST two good Batman films made and it would be extremely tough to topple the excellent combo of Nolan and Bale.Their best bet would be to bring in a different director and actor and keep the series going.
As much as I am a huge fan of Nolan for finally giving Batman fans two excellent batman movies,i am glad he is out after this and leaving because to use Bane who is about the lamest villain in the batman universive-he was lame even in the cartoon show,to use HIM of all villains, that to me shows that he has lost it.
saw the movie last night and loved it.. i liked how spidey was battered and bruised, like any novice would.. i expect him to be a better brawler in the coming sequels.. is there any way of not killing gwen? she is so much better than mj.. they should ret-con that sh!t... i liked the web-shooters.. they add a more at-the-edge-of-your-seat drama, like when [SPOILER - highlight to read]: the lizard smashed the shooters on the oscorp tower rooftop. my first reaction was "he's f*cked if he slips".. in spiderman 2, with the biological shooters, you just know they're gonna kick in in a life or death situation..
also, who is the mystery man during the mid-credits scene? ideas?
OK Toby just stop crying! Lol that's all I remember of him being Parker!
I personally think a Batman reboot in a couple of years is pretty careless. But I think it will probably still make around the $500mill mark worldwide (maybe less) simply because of the excitement Nolan has brought to Batman. But yeah it will make a lot less than TDK and TDKR.
Thing is Sony has no choice, if they want to hang on to Spiderman they need to keep making movies with no more than a 5 year gap. So when there is a reboot there will only ever be a maximum of 5 years between series.
But for WB to choose to reboot Batman so quickly just seems careless to me.
Do something new. Try a Green Aroow, or heck if you insist on Batman, go for Batman Beyond. But don't just keep rebooting Batman and Superman time and time again!
To be fair, the wrestling thing (if done properly) would have taken a few minutes and Webb would have just been accused of ripping off Ramai's movie.
Heck critics are still saying that this movie is just a repeat of S1, even though it was completely different!
