XXX parodies of superhero movies are getting pretty popular. There've been quite many released already, like Avengers, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, half a dozen or more Batman films, Superman vs. Spider-Man, Thor, etc.

You know I don't understand why people can't grasp that it's not racist to point out an obvious ethnic difference. I am one of those people that think if a character is created one ethnicity then thats what they should stay. As far as im concerned though if a black man wants to play a white character thats fine as long as they are white in the movie and vice versa. So in short Jamie Fox better either pile on the make up or get that Michael Jackson surgery.....
I agree on this when it comes to more complex characters or unique characters. If they made Aunt May japanese, MJ a latina, or Vulture a Korean, that wouldn't be alright.
A typical one dimensional thug with super powers like Shocker or Electro don't really matter as much.

Exactly. I don't think him being black will ruin it for me as long as the movie is very well done. However Jamie Fox more then likely be the down fall of that character. I still would MUCH prefer Electro to be white. Just as I would prefer Mandarin to be Asian.

I want to apologize if I came across as a D**k. Im very tired but can't fall asleep.
My point was that The argument was wrong due to the fact that Nick Fury was created black in the ultimate universe. They used that as the source for his character. Thats entirely different then just "transforming" someone of one race into another. The movies pull from both 616 and ultimate comics and im fine with that. Thats different then just pulling out of their @$$. Some ideas I think are dumb but thats just because I don't like the idea in general...even in the books but that has no weight on the movie itself. Like mentioned above, I didn't like that they are doing it in Ironman 3 either. It wont ruin the movie for me but it will be a gripe. If they changed the race of someone that is a "main" hero I would be entirely opposed.
EDIT: Although, nothing wrong with picking an actor based on skill but if they happen to be the wrong race for the character they should make them "look" the part as I mentioned earlier.
i guess race isn't an end of the world issue. i do prefer the comic character's original race from the comics but if the person from a different race does a solid performance then it's alright. (not to excuse an actor of the same race and his performance, i'd rather a bad performance as the right race than a bad performance with the wrong race for the double whammy fail). but like m.c. duncan did a pretty good kingpin in daredevil, hardy's bane was great and sam as nick f. was decent.
so it's all about bringing the character to life with solid performances. case in point, ben kingsley. but i know some that would've preffered the guy who played shang tsung in the m.k. movies.
but jamie gets me a bit nervous because i know how much of a clown he is. even in serious roles he'll throw out one of his "jamie jokes" or two. but we'll just have to wait and see. i wouldn't of casted him but, someone saw something in him that we haven't seen. but we'll see. should be intersting...

I was actually very unhappy that bane was not played by someone of Spanish decent. But I wasn't entirely happy with Banes portrayal over all. Hardy did a really good performance though. Well I can give leeway as long as it's a really good performance but it's still a gripe. However if they were to change the race on, lets say Thor, or Ironman. I would have been furious regardless of how good the actor was. I would boycott the crap out of a movie like that. That would be like Ron Perelman playing Blade. I wasn't a fan of The Daredevil movie but like I pointed out earlier im cool with it if it exists in the comics but if they pull it out of nowhere im not to happy about it.
Ooh I truly didn't know that.
I heard that Ultimate Fury was actually made with Samule J. in mind.
