I'd chalk that up to PIS.. Captain America also claimed Danny Rand was as skilled as Mantis, while beating the stuffing out of him, which is double PIS (Danny being remotely as good as Mantis, and Cap claiming being as good as Mantis isn't good enough to beat Cap..)

Even the mighty Val Armorr has questionable losses, or struggles when he really shouldn't.. (Whenever he teamed up with Batman, for example.)
