"The show itself will be set sometime after Voyager, and will remain faithful to the pre-alternate timeline (as created in Abrams’ 2009 film) canon, so as to appeal to older Trek-fans, and to not intrude upon the new film series."
I like this idea.
Am looking forward to JJ's second film though too.

I'd definitely enjoy watching this. Animated or not, going backwards in time was a huge mistake with the launch of Enterprise. Forward is the only way to go with a new series. But, as with all shows, this will be about the chemistry with the main characters. TOS had it in spades, and DS9 I felt is the only series that did really, really well with having a plethora of 'main' characters.
