As far as I know, Kanto never showed any powers besides being highly skilled in his assassin weapons and a skilled swordsman. Other than being a "new god", has he demonstrated any powers?
If not, I have to go with the Vision

Superman tossed him into the firepits, and it didn't harm him. Superman was KOed by firepits once.
He was one of Martian Manhunters old nemesis's, in Ostranders run, and had special weapons like a tracking gun and sword that both defeated his phasing.. In a rematch, MM had to use hyper aggressive tactics, surprise, and a new, more imposing form specially designed to fight him, to win.
And those scans prove MM was ready for Kanto, with his new and improved battle form giving him an edge in combat, and an effective battle plan involving keeping him off balance and not giving him a chance to gather his wits..
That all = prep. Kanto wasn't expecting a fight, and had no idea what MM was capable of after their last encounter.
Give Kanto a rematch with MM using the same form, and it might go very differently..
You have to be joking. Kanto even SAYS that he knew Jonn would be there. Jonn kept him off balance by pummeling the shit out of him. There is no one-sided prep advantage there, Jonn is just his obvious superior.
Knowing MM was coming for the girl, and being prepared to fight him are two different things.
Don't underestimate the value of training for an opponent. Failure to do so is why Mohammad Ali lost one to Joe Frasier, despite being his superior in nearly every way..
Jonn is Kanto's obvious superior in both those altercations. Jonn hadn't trained to specifically fight Kanto, he was just better then when they'd last fought. Hell, we also know that he's beaten Kanto prior to that fight.
Jonn had no advantage in that fight beyond being more powerful then Kanto. Kanto was expecting Jonn and he was packing his transdimensional blade to boot.
"The element of surprise and prep". Honestly, Kanto is just beneath Jonn.
Right. That's why he fought Kanto in his base form, and not in that armored monstrosity with a fist sticking out of his chest, a blade for a hand, and a shield that could block Kantos special sword.
Nope, this is how he always fights, and isn't a strategy devised to beat a single opponent.
