You pretty much need to up-throw spam or something him so he'll be forced to stay in the air where he can do little; he also has terrible recovery to boot. But yeah, he would naturally be the go-to character in something like For Glory.
My bad, I rarely get on KMC at the moment due to my real life. Whenever you guys try to play or add me, then just send me a PM and I can respond to whatever a lot sooner.
^You too? Forecast said my region could have up to three or so feet. I ended up buying two new Amiibos to kill the time from the extra day off. Got the last Zelda Amiibo I had seen in any store for miles, and a Mario.
Thought about bumping this thread with that news, but figured someone like you would do it anyway.
I reckoned Ryu was some leftover deal with Capcom after they got to add Megaman in and that he'd be likely as a result after he started to be found in game data, but... did they really have to give him a ****ing counter?
And there's Roy of course... Our 3rd Marth who was only wanted because he was in Melee. At least he's a little more different than Lucina, though that's not saying much.
Hoping Wolf will be shown on Sunday's direct or E3, or whenever more DLC characters are to be revealed.
Too many characters in the game or Smash in general nowadays have a counter. I wouldn't mind it so much if they worked in more different ways among the cast, but with Smash it's usually just "lol counter this move with double its damage and land ridiculous knockback".
I guess to be fair with Ryu though, it's kind of a filler special since his specials already consist of hadouken, hurricane kick, and shoryuken.
Late edit: And, uh... you know, for quality purposes, a gentle sound design patch would help, too. I feel it lacks in some areas and is occasionally distracting, but I can understand that there's not a whole lot of incentive or demand for that kind of change.
I respect Banjo as a character, but there's other characters made by Rare that deserve it more IMO, like K. Rool. Plus I hate how loud and rabid his fanbase has been since the whole Smash ballot thing started (nothing against you though).
Is ironic too given something Sakurai said against the idea of having fighting game characters in Smash before.
Also, I stand corrected about Ryu having a counter special. It's actually a super armor charging move. Also, he has two final smashes apparently... A close range and a long range one; short range is just a power shoryuken while long range is a powerful hadouken.
So why couldn't Mewtwo get the X form as a 2nd final smash again? Everyone having two or more final smashes is something I'd like to see with the next game, on that note (as customs or something).
