Deadline reports that Captain America: The Winter Soldier directors Joe and Anthony Russo have a short list of five actresses for a major "love interest" role in the highly anticipated Marvel Studios sequel. The site doesn't have a name for the character, but it seems fair to assume that they're in the running to play 'Sharon Carter'.

The list:

? Emilia Clarke (The dragon lady in Game of Thrones)
? Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey)
? Teresa Palmer (I Am Number Four)
? Imogen Poots (Fright Night)
? Alison Brie (Annie from Community, Mad Men)

Interesting.

Also, Scarlet Johanssen is pretty much confirmed.

He sounds guarded in his response, and could be open or not open. Harrison Ford talked like that in-between the Star Wars films - not sounding enthusiastic but then turning on the enthusiasm once he's signed. They're likely not going to get to Red Skull again for some years, anyway. Marvel Studios has a plan and they're sticking to it.

I know these are stand alone films, but any chance there's some sort of crossover with Iron Man 3 and Capt. America 2? There's alot of Stark in the snow, maybe he comes across something or someone that plays a role in Winter Soldier.

prolly so.. Hardy looked the part of Bane and he was good.. Grillo has to do the same in order to look the part... Not sure if he can pull it off but will wait and see the pics when they are released

Turns out Grillo has indeed been confirmed for Crossbones.

Crossbones is a good physical foil for Steve, but as the primary antagonist (not including Winter Soldier)? Curious if we'll see Sin and/or Red Skull - or Zemo - in the movie.
