- God of War: Ascension is a prequel to the original God of War after Kratos sold his soul to Ares
- You will become a master at channeling Kratos’ inner rage with the “Blades of Chaos” once again
- Vengeance is still the central theme, but you will understand a more humanistic side of Kratos
- Tether System allows Kratos to sling enemies around the environment like a pseudo-weapon wrecking ball, augmenting his primary weapon attacks.
- World Weapon System allows Kratos to steal enemies weapons from his enemies, acquiring powerful secondary attacks. You can pick-up/steal almost any enemy weapon!
- Promptless Mini-Game with a new free-form attack system. When you go in for a final kill or counter, you’ll need to focus on enemies evasive and attack maneuvers in real-time instead of indicated button prompts to finish them off. Old-school button prompt indicators seen in God of War 3 will still be present during unique encounters, but for the majority of finishers you will need to rely on your guts and instinct.
- Life Cycle Mechanic Ability allows Kratos to control the flow of time in various environments to solve puzzles, and freeze enemies during combat.
- Mythological Heroes Multiplayer DLC Pack is a Pre-Order bonus.
- An 8" Kratos statue, a premium steel book game case, OST (digital version), a PS3 dynamic theme and PSN avatar pack, double XP points for multiplayer, and a DLC pass to unlock all future DLC releases at no additional cost. Retails for $79.99
- March 12 2013 is the release date.

F*** no. God of War games have, with one exception, always been released in March.
Favourite feature?
Swinging enemies around like a wrecking ball, picking up weapons to use as your own, or time manip?

I bet that no one is going to bithc about GOW stealing elements from other games like dmc hang time....or the rebuilding from singularity.
It's not like I mind it cause it looks good but gow fans keep saying that every hack n slash is a gow ripoff.
Naw, God of war in comparison to all the other hack n slash games has stayed true to itself. Heavenly sword, Bayonetta, DMC, Ninja Gaiden are all either dead in the water, getting retconned or stealing elements from other games yet the only major change in this GOW is multiplayer.
Shame about Ninja gaiden though, it's the only other hack n slash I liked.
Yeah, this takes place long before God of War 2 and 3, so he's not going to be as strong and buff as he was in 3.
Speaking of which, his model does not look as detailed or good as that of 3's. The environments look fantastic though.

That boss in the demo is Kharybdis. At least, that's what Pappy called it.

Some myths say that Charybdis was a face with arms while others characterized her/it as nothing more than a "monstrous" whirlpool from which there is no escape.
Do you mean the elephant man or the Kraken-like thing? I'll assume you mean the latter, cuz I'm sure there're still more sea monsters Kratos has yet to be shown killing; counting this one, he'd be at about four.
