Any DLC out on Day 1 though isn't really DLC unless you're saying that short for disc locked content. I'm just glad Bioware will be delivering everybody onto the retail upon release this time and not making us spend extra unless we want to buy any special editions. EA is learning.

it can be day one dlc and not be on-disk. while I don't agree with all dlc practices, saying that it can't possibly be actual dlc is a little much, tbh.
i'm playing the ME3 dlc right now, and I've been very impressed so far. 2's was excellent, yeah.
Bioware does good with DLC, and since this is Dragon Age, focusing on DA-centric DLC only further proves that point, as well as the fact that they can release multiple strong DLC packs.
DA:O
Golems of Amgarrak
Stone Prisoner
Warden's Keep
Return To Ostagar
Leliana's Song
The Darkspawn Chronicles
Witch Hunt
And all the misc DLC like the Blood Dragon Armor(which transferred over to ME2) and the Feast Day packs.
Let's not forget about the "Awakening" expansion.
DA2
Exiled Prince
Legacy
Black Emporium
Mark of the Assassin
Are EA greedy? Sure. Look at how much the DLC for ME 3 cost me in total: €55 (euro) for Leviathan, Omega, Citadel, From Ashes, 2 weapon packs and an appearance pack. I'm glad I didn't buy it all at once. That's the price of a damned game. Sure, Omega was great and From Ashes added enough to be enjoyable, but damn, that's the price of a game over here.
Was making dlc that contained a full-blown character, someone who, while not integral to the plot, was in fact integral to the lore, a good idea? God no. Nor was making him day-one dlc.
But they flat out said that all that was on the disc was the framework so he would work within the game; just like Kasumi was in 2.
People who hacked it broke their game. The download was still needed.
I'm not saying EA isn't a bunch of *****. They are. From Dead Space 3, Dragon Age 2 and Sim City to things like Syndicate... And don't even get me on rushing out SWTOR. They're a bunch of *****, like I said.
Javik still wasn't some Capcom-esque "all on the disc" dlc though.

If you want to keep talking about Javik, who I'm starting to regret ever bringing up, we can continue the conversation in the ME3 thread. Right now, as I was saying before, hooray! No worrying about additional downloadable characters for Inquisition!
Another EA Is a dick move. They wre pressuring people as far back as KOTOR 2. It came out like 6 months early and a lot of content was cut because they didn't have time to put it in.
That's funny, because I've seen Ground Zeroes and Konami get plenty of shit, to the point they had to reduce the original price of the game. It also isn't nearly as bad as some of the shit EA has pulled, like Sim City.
Ea has done shitty stuff, not nearly as evil as some would claim but yeah shitty stuff. But they've done a lot to fix it now while also supporting good things. The fact that they are one of the two big companies to do digital refunds on games even after you've started to play them is a major step in their image imo. Especially since refunds are something steam still scoffs at
