Oh, cool. Apparently there's still some mumblings for this as recently as this month...

‘Spawn’ Movie Gets ‘Broken City’ Scribe as New Writer

Todd McFarlane still wants to direct, apparently. I don't think that's a good idea, honestly.

Guillermo del Toro could be a good fit for a franchise like this.

Sam Raimi or Frank Daranbont (I think he could do a dark superhero like no other). Cronenberg interests me too for this.

Neither are bad picks imo, I went with del Torro due to the biblical and demonic imagery associated with the Spawn franchise and del Torro is great with that sort.

Omg, if Frank Darabont did a Spawn movie that would be the best thing to happen to cinema since Denis V. doing Dune.

In my dreams. Not likely. Not sure the storytelling would be up to his caliber, so he probably wouldn't be interested.

But that's assuming it really will happen.

Todd's been promising us the new TV series and the new film for two decades now.

It's a bit like with G.R.R. Martin telling us he's gonna finish the books.

Yeah he is a good director, but sometimes his flights of fancy stray to far into the cutesy.

Yeah, he would nail it. Remember his background is horror.

I really think Cronenberg would be awesome if he channeled history of violence, they live and the fly as a mashup. Even elements of Scanners. Body horror is the genre he invented, strip back the supernatural and that's Spawn.

Apparently his new comics have been selling really well, though. I was just at a store today and they said the new issues sell out, and I saw an article earlier that said they're selling really well. I'd have to find it again when I get a chance...

I'm for it. One of my favorite comics. I had #1-62 and a few more before I joined the corps and lost all of em. The movie was garbage though

One of my favorite actors on screen, I forgot he was the clown. He did such a good job he was unrecognizable.
