So the military occupy La. That's the point. They can't safely be outside the wizards powers. You want to gimp the wizards because you know they win. You're a gimper.
Airstrikes come from military airbases. The military isn't going to have a bomber leave Ft. Irwin(or other), fly 150+ miles, land somewhere in LA and have the pilots come out of the planes so you can have the wizards cast spells on them. They leave Ft. Irwin, fly over LA and drop their payload; that's an airstrike.
Wizards aren't being gimped.
Stop being a crying coward and just move on, since you don't have the balls to admit the wizards don't win here in this setting like Lestov did.

They got any spells that are castable when the caster is being evaporated instantly in a mushroom cloud? Or how about repelling neutron bombs that they arent aware of being dropped if not in direct line of sight?
Odd, they have a hard time hitting each other from close range while moving several hundred MPH slower than a jet....how exactly are they going to hit an F-18 or a bomber?

They can bomb but once they are in the battlefield they cannot leave it. That's a loss. You want to pretend they can go where the wizards cannot follow because you're biased and weak willed. Luck potions, shields, Imperio. Game over.
They can leave. Because a bomber without a payload is just a plane. They have to go refuel. The military isn't leaving, the bombing run planes are going to refuel and coming back.
You can't say they don't do what they're designed to do.
