The US also has more than 1 plane capable of dropping bombs.

ok so now i suppose the troops are not allowed to take and defend a point after making the wizards retreat?

you are picturing planes or gunboats just hovering and playing wack-a-mole while no ground troops are deployed. what silliness goes on in your needy imagination.

They can take and defend a point, but they'll just get telefragged with fiendfyres when the wizards come back.

Again, any ground forces stand no chance against the teleporting flying wizards. Wizards don't even have to be on the ground. They can spam attack from above. It going to be somewhat difficult for the Army to take aim at them when they must defend themselves from a 40 foot sentient fire monster.

The Military only gets 1 plane, 1 bomb and a few soldiers with no more than 300 rounds of ammo.

They can have 1 spitball, but they can't use it for the first 86 hours of combat.

I'm sorry. Does the troll who just reached the 11th page of his retarded spite thread (which for a few days he even altered his sig around) actually have a relevant opinion here? Nope? Okay then. smile

Wizards win or stalemate, as proven /thread

oh right. my bad. javelin missiles dont exist, since you are ignorant of them. proceed with your ad hominem attacks and unwarranted self importance.

Yeah i'm not giving anyone anything. I'm simply explaining the differences. The US has nukes at the ready at all times. Wizards do not have these things ready at all times and would need some prep to go in with these. A closer comparison would be taking away the wizards' most powerful spell. Even tho it isn't "nuke" level in destruction capabilities it's something ridiculously powerful and something they can pull outta nowhere instantly.

Pretty much. What else can happen? US can't enter the shield, and any ground forces that manage to will be telefragged with fiendfyres. LA is one of the largest cities on Earth.

Without nukes (and even with nukes), there's nothing to stop them from teleporting 100 miles away safe from harm. Whatever airstrike the US is deploying, even if it breaks the shield, certainly will not have a 100 mile range. Even if we took the most powerful US nuke of all time, the B53, it only has a maximum radius of 40 miles. That's not nearly enough to cover the 469 sq mile area of LA. That being stated, I'm unaware of how the shield deals with blinding EMR, so the nuke has that advantage.

Well according to the OP the wizards would lose since they need to lay seige to LA and sitting around in a shield then running away if the shield is broken just to sit in a new one is not laying seige. The US would have effectively ended the "seige" just by trying to break the shield.

What you need to do is have the wizards mount some sort of offensive or something or else inactivity loses the match for them

Inactivity means stalemate, as focus4chumps pointed out, and I'm perfectly content with that.

Wizards and army stalemate /thread

Seemed to me that if the wizards failed to take LA they lost. Inactivity means they failed. Stalemate is ok too tho

actually i was mistaken. you did in fact use the word "siege".

-A military operation in which enemy forces surround a town or building, cutting off supplies, with the aim of compelling the surrender.

no stalemate. u.s. military prevents siege, so while wizards survive, they still lose

But can the US prevent the siege? Going to be hard with a mega-shield and teleporting wizards. This is why I initially said they won. The US can do nothing to stop them. They'd first have to penetrate the shield, and once they do, the wizards can just teleport to another part of the city to avoid an airstrike, or telefrag grounds forces with fiendfyre. The fact that wizards can also fly in smoke form with enough speed to collapse a bridge also gives them an advantage here. The US lose because they have no way of dispelling the wizards from the city.

But by what you said would happen the "siege" stopped therefore the US won. The point i would make is that the wizards would erect a shield and completely destroy everyone and everything within that area then set up a new one in a new area. Repeat this process til all of LA was in ruins.
