Mjolnir being lifted by anyone other than Odin/Thor is usually always writer plot working its magic.

Link can't lift it based on there being no tangible specification of what type of "worthiness" is required to wield the hammer. The Silver Surfer is every bit as noble and heroic as Link, yet he can't lift the hammer. Point proven.

What I've been saying all along. The writer is the decider on who's worthy or not. No one listens.
