Phone booth

Bit premature this post as I've not seen the film yet, but we're about to go and see it at 7pm.

I'll post a review when I get back, after I've had my take-away treat for the week.....chinese food. big grin

Okay, we're back now and I've stuffed myself full on popcorn and chinese food.

The film seemed a little short, but I think thats because I've gotten used to all these 2 - 3 hour epics that have become the norm these days. The film is revolved around a cockey PR bloke called Stu. He's a typical hot shot who only looks after number 1 and doesn't worry about others feelings.

All this comes into question when he answers a call in a phone booth (phone box in my country) and the caller seems to know an awful lot about Stu and his lifestyle of lies. All the caller wants is for Stu to change his ways........or else he dies.

The twist at the end seemed so obvious that I was expecting it, and it wasn't all that tricky considering I'd already sussed out which actors voice was the mystery caller.

Overall it was a good film cus it was very different from anything I've seen, to keep a movie in one set pretty much all the way through takes a good script to keep the viewer interested, and I was.

The spilt-screen action allowed you to see various things going on and I have no doubt I probably missed a couple of things, which I'll probably catch next time I see it.

Overall I'd say its worth seeing, Farrell's acting is good and its a good all round thriller.

7.5/10

One piece of advice I do have is that I never advise anyone to go to an early showing like I did. We usually go later but we took Mrs.MM's little sister with us, the place was jam-packed with annoying teenagers.

Never again, I tell ya. mad

Well ive never seen the movie but i saw the trailer when i went and saw The Core and it said Keifer Sutherland was the voice of the mystery caller. Is that who you are talking about?

Yeah, I didn't want to say it right out because of it being a spoiler.

I havent seen Phone Booth yet but it looks way too similar to a Wesley Snipes movie called Liberty Stands Still, same basis but instead of a guy in the phone booth is a girl, thats why i havent check Phone Booth because they look too similar

My father said this was a strange movie. The premise is totally different from any other in recent memory.

I have to agree with What Mech said about this movie really, I do think that the time passing quickly was due to it being 'real-time' if you like, the intensity of it was good and kept ou enthralled, thought the ending could have been better.

Yeah too easy, that part. But thinking what more did he want him to do after he had admitted to his wife that he wanted to well you know....that was quite good, and when he got the gun and got shot I initially thought he was dead untill the copper said rubber bullets, then I remembered seeing one re-loading his gun and remembered thinking why that was relevant and matched the 2, there were some clever bits.

Is it true what I heard that this movie was filmed in 24 hours, or is that the time span within the movie?

The Time-span isn't 24 hours, its real-time like 2 hours.
