So you're saying there's no way Superman used his super senses to help him find people while searching. And instead he has to rely solely on searching every nook and cranny of the planet physically? Sounds like his hearing is pretty bad.
I still haven't recovered from the sheer irony of that statement.
Hey, that's exactly what surfer fans refute when they try to argue that surfer physically searched the whole planet. In this case superman didn't have time to rely on his super-hearing, so he physically searched the whole planet.
And looks like I'm going to find the sheer hypocrisy more than I can handle.
Really dude? Lying is not helping your case when people catch you all the time. Why deny my training? I am a superman fan, but i will not lie about what he did or can do and will attempt to correct lies or mistakes others make about superman. Do you want to know why i have not defended superman yet? Well its because there are so many lies floating around on here about supermans abilities that must be cleared up before any debate can take place. Example, superman vs kurse h2h. This was said ( superman would hit kurse with thousands of planet destroying punches ) Understand that lie has to be corrected before ANY debate can take place, then theres fighting at light speed, blitzing at light speed??? How the hell can one defend superman when all those lies are in the way, and the minute i try and correct, its hate??? I am about to give up on you dude.
Again - speed of sound/curvature of the Earth. He HAS to search it physically.
Still not quite sure what you're trying to say. Is it that you thought Superman was so amazing he could make sound waves travel faster (through the vacuum of space, no less)? Or that he could bend light around corners?
Or maybe that you thought he had some kind of precog, to be able to show up at the exact spot they ported to?
Provide proof that he searched the planet looking for them. Next thing, stop using real world logic for a comic book. Superman heard people all the way from the moon. That doesn't have a THING to do with sound waves. He was on another freaking country and heard a bullet being shot at Lois and made it there in time to catch it. If sound had anything to do with that, she would have died.

IIRC, Surfer's senses don't work the way traditional sensory ability is portrayed in comics. Afterall, he does have psionic/esp powers as part of his PC powerset. So it wouldn't really be too far-fetched to assume that he could do such a thing even if it seemingly violated the very laws of physics.
Superman on the other hand can't afford to have such a benefit of doubt. Therefore, the "comic books work differently" excuse is more applicable to him than the Surfer.
I have no proof that he searched. I do however have proof that Superman has precog....or, another way to look at it, is that he has EXTRA senses beyond the five which Tamaranean cloaks presumably shield against.
Either that, or I now have proof that the Tams have shitty cloaking tech.
Because either Superman is that good, or they are that bad.
That's what I am trying to drive at. Hell, the other day I even posted a scan of Pre-Flashpoint Superman hearing Jimmy's watch from Vega, 26 light years away.
Not that it matters - this ain't a Pepsi challenge between the two; Surfer wins.....
But IYO, did Superman detect their location from Pluto (let's assume he can) then fly over, or did he fly to Earth (their likeliest destination), and scan the Earth, or a combo of both (flies to Earth, listens very hard/stares intently and finds them)?
Probably heard them talking and flew at superspeeds to them. Same way he heard the Mars colonists in distress talking and flew at superspeeds to them.
Although I find the latter more impressive, even with the distance differentials. He was just standing around in the Daily Planet minding his own business when he did the latter. He was focused on tracking down the Outsiders in the former. And he heard them inside the ship talking about how they were going to teleport to the Earth before they even teleported.
So if he's fast enough to fly all that way (Pluto to Earth in the time it takes to say a sentence or two)...scanning the Earth physically should be easy enough, right?
What I'm driving at is, either way, its a good feat. Good for Superman's senses (he detected them from Pluto) and great for his travel speed.
I don't get it. He was able to hear people from Mars sh1tting their pants from Earth and fly to them. He knew the Outsiders were teleporting to Earth, he traveled there and heard them talking amongst themselves and flew to them also. If you're trying to argue against this sequence of events, you're going to have to talk more directly to me rather than past me.
He didn't necessarily hear them from Pluto, y'know. He knew they were teleporting to Earth since he heard their entire conversation within the ship. He could have flown to Earth first and then focused on hearing them and flew to their location. Which is more likely. Since there was no reason for Superman to wait around in space near Pluto before heading over to the planet he knew they were going to be on.
