It seems they are trying to keep bits and pieces canon, or something. You have some people working on the films saying to disregard Wolverine Origins and X3, yet they included small flashes from both those films in Wolverine's memories, like bits with Jean from X3 and the fight where Creed broke Logan's claws in Origins. And there was definite talk of keeping Creed as Logan's brother and re-using him for another Wolverine film.
The Angel age thing also bugged me, but not as much as the Summers. I don't care much for comic Angel, so not really bothered by his screen portrayal, but I am a fan of the comic versions of the Summers brothers, and cringe at how they have been portrayed so far. Essentially, a pair of jocks with blast powers. And now they are making a total hash of the ages. But then, going by the DoFP time line, everyone, like Scott, Jean, Ororo etc. are currently like 60, yet have the appearance of people in their late thirties/early forties. Think it was said that DoFP's "current" time line was like 2023 or somewhere around there. So a good 40 years after Age of Apocalypse, where we get teen versions of everyone.
Jeezus, Fox made a hash of this time line.

^ Yes in DOFP Wolverine came 50 years from the future. According to the upcoming Apocalypse movie Scott and Jean were like 6/7 years old at the time Wolverine went back to in DOFP. In fact the red haired girl you see when Magneto lifts the stadium was said by Kinberg to be Jean.
So that means add 50 years to her age when Wolverine wakes up again in the future, and Jean has to be in her mid-late 50's.
So the least they could have done was give Scott and Jean grey hair I just hope they do something to make Lucas Till look at least 10 years older.
Singer's thinking: "How do I address Alex Summers when I'm bringing in Scott Summers now? Oh I know, I'll have a scene between them at the beginning then quickly kill Alex off."
Like the guy in the article even pointed out, this could maybe have worked if the parents didn't look like they must have had Alex while they were in primary school.

I just hope they do something to make Lucas Till look at least 10 years older.
