they should try to work SWORD into the sequel since it's likely too big a thing to work into that terrible tv show.

You for wanting the poor-man's Thor in a film. BRB hasn't done anything to me that I know of.

No, i didn't at all concede....Seriously stop trying to pull that shit just because it worked with Quan and everyone else in the movie verses

your clearly trying to make out what you've seen in the Guardians books is boarding on a R rating which it isn't.

Here are other movies that got my coveted 9 out of 10 rating:

Hot Rod
Dumb and Dumber
Ace Venture Pet Detective: When Nature Calls
Zoolander
Happy Gilmore

That first list was specifically sampled for this discussion. I targeted the sample of my top 50 list for movies I was sure he would also enjoy.

It was to directly refute his assertion of my tastes in films. He should have experienced a heavy dose of cognitive dissonance. "If he likes the same movies I do, then his taste cannot be utter and complete shit and I can no longer casually dismiss his opinions and commentary on this film." He would be faced with a decision: accept my criticisms of Guardians of the Galaxy as legitimate (they are...it is my opinion and it is absurd to think a person's opinion on how much they enjoyed a film, is invalid) or take another look at why he liked the film and evaluate how his previous and new opinion of the film compare (and then re-compare it to my opinion).

Generally, people hope for the latter to occur. They want people to be aware of and assess their opinion as valid or acceptable. When someone expresses an opinion on art that runs contrary to theirs (even if it is just details that they disagree on: let us not forget that I rated it a 6.5-7 out of 10 which, on my scale, means it is above "average" to "good"), they get upset, angry, or uncomfortable. So they try their best to dispute that opinion with various methods. The most immature and childish method (because it is the most simplistic and requires the least amount of thought to arrive at) is to immediately treat the opposing opinion as invalid. It basically constitutes a, "Well...you're just wrong!" This is what Estacado did when he said, "You must have shitty taste in movies."

Normally, I do not explain the machinations of my thoughts to people in such detail because, clearly, it is too lengthy and complicated for a light and casual conversation. I am aware that I tak 5000 steps to go from A to B. I am working on improving my writing. But I figured you deserved the lengthy explanation to better understand where I am coming from. In the future, you can just assume there was a whole bunch of thinking involved with my comments and not a superficial interpretation, like the one you made regarding my opinion.

And here we arrive at you attempting the same immature and childish method of dealing with your cognitive dissonance: treat the opposing opinion as just plain wrong. However, your attempt, here, is just slightly more complicated than Estacado's: you've added an abstraction layer to your disputation by labeling me as a neck beard who thinks his opinion is better than everyone elses'. Here is the problem with what you're doing: this directly applies to you and Estacado, not me. Why? Because I have not once asserted that your opinions are invalid but both of you have: Estacado, directly, and you, indirectly with an insult.

Here is a suggestion for both of you: grow up. Stop acting like 8-year children arguing over their favorite superhero. Accept that fact that adults will have differing opinions on the art that they consume. Do not pretend your opinions are better than someone else's when it comes to the value people obtain from that art they consume. If you take my advice, you'll come off less as petty children whining on the internet and more like mature adults who are capable of having constructive dialogue. I am not saying you both acting like fit-throwing children, all the time. You both have good commentary in discussions. But, sometimes, you both descend into stuff like this.

Fair enough, but you still come off like one of those try-hard wannabe posters that think they are film critics and are full of themselves.

Liking the smell of your own farts is fine , but dont expect others to not call you out especially when your coming off as an ass constantly calling everyone "nerds" and "children"

You are right about everyone having different opinions on different films and you have a right to dislike or like any movie. Just like everyone here has a right to criticize any post here because you are putting it out there for everyone.

Only neither you nor anyone else really offered a constructive criticism of dadudemon's posts.

I can't comment on his opinion of GotG because I haven't seen it.
