They showed Grodd getting experimented on at STAR Labs by Wells and Eiling. Only Wells actually treated him kindly while Eiling was...well he was Eiling. He actually admitted the first time he tortured someone like he did Stein, it was a gorilla.
Caught up. Yeah I love this show. It's Meh sometimes with the Villain of the week formula, but when they get on with the main plots it's frigging great.
This and Walking Dead are my 2 favorite comic book shows right now.
I dunno, I think that's a bit too fast for the show right now. Besides I don't remember exactly, but wasn't Reverse Flash trapped behind for forcefield once while Wells was outside it?
My guess is he goes back in time or into the future like a day when he wants to show the Reverse Flash and Dr. Wells at the same time.

Im pretty sure Wells did have his powers before he got that device. Tom C(the actor that plays Wells) said he was the one in the yellow suit during the mid season final and he makes his voice change to sound exactly like the RF and all his wounds healed at the end. And in the trailer we can clearly see something moving back and forth between the two Images of Wells. I could be wrong but im sticking with my theory. If Wells was moving back and forth he could have easily faked beating himself up. In the preview Wells obviously wanted Cisco too see what he was doing for whatever reason. No reason he couldn't do it on a faster scale.
As for Grodd I think Wells was talking about when he was working with the general back when they were experimenting on Grodd
Well even if RF and Wells were two different people RF left the field and pulled Wells in. Imo moving so fast he appears in two places at once would also explain why the Force field became unstable. If Wells was constantly moving in and out of it at super speed then it probably put to much strain on the force field and that is why Cisco had no idea what went wrong. Not to mention in the preview for the 17th you can clearly see a blur moving between the two Wells. I could be wrong but I have been thinking this since the mid season and now the preview makes it look even more probable.
Also you could be right and that could be too fast for the show but we have conformation Barry will be breaking the time barrier in one of the upcoming episodes...I think I heard the next one actually. I know for sure it happens this season.
Wells creating an afterimage in the trailer would be absolutely nothing compared to if he was doing it in the previous episodes as Wheelchair Wells and Reverse Flash.
He is standing completely still in the afterimages of the trailer.
The problem with the Wheelchair Wells/Reverse Flash scene is that RF is actually beating Wells up, its not just an afterimage of him pretending to get beat up.
AND they are wearing different clothes. So RF/Wells must be constantly changing clothes, if that even makes sense?
I mean its not impossible, and they could probably explain it with some time travel stuff, but I would be a little disappointed.
If there is only one RF/Wells, at this point he is so much faster that Barry should be as a statue to him.
I think there must be a bigger twist - at this point just saying Wells is RF (one and only) is too obvious. Eddie must fit in somewhere. He's not just some sidekick cop.
Agree with this. Wells moving so fast to be in 2 different places at the same time (at one point separated by a forcefield) wearing different clothes, beating himself up, would just be too out there Imo.
I'm sure there will either be 2 Wells due to time travel, or another Reverse Flash working with Wells.

Well yeah thats what I mean by it has happened in the comics. While Wally was talking to Hunter Zolomon(Im pretty sure) before he got his powers he was Wally and The Flash in the same room at the same time. He had to constantly change clothes to keep it up. Again you guys may be right it could be too much for the show and we don't know the context of the part in the preview but why have such a scene if its not related to something? And if it was just an after image of himself he would be fast enough to punch himself between clothing changes. I think you two could be right and we will probably find out next episode.
As for Eddie. I think that he would be too easy to point a finger at. I think his last name makes him a red herring. Imo if anything Eddie will end up being Cobalt Blue in a later season.
As for being separated by the force field....even if im wrong we see RF easily leave the force field and grab Wells so I don't think him being in that would hold him back much more the a paper bag would have.

It could be.
I think that im most interested to find out why his connection to the Speed Force is damaged. As we saw in an earlier episode Wells was using the device to repair his connection. I don't remember if I said this already or not but I also think that Wells is pushing Barry to get faster so he can steal his powers to fix his own. He could be attempting to use Blackouts Blood to make something that will steal Barrys powers.
My guess it has something to do with Barry missing in the future. Perhaps they are following the comic where Barry is The Source of the Speed Force, hence he needs Barry to be alive and well to keep his own powers.
But yeah if he figures out a way to steal Barry's Powers permanently then I'm sure he will do it without hesitation.

The trailer for the rest of the season has Wells saying "You will die tonight Barry Allen." and Eddie shooting two cops. Eddie may be turning out evil after all but still no signs of Super Speed. Plus Wells saying that makes me believe he is Eobard even more now.
[SPOILER - highlight to read]: - Wells as predicted is............ Eobard Thawne aka Professor Flash.
- Eddie is indeed Wells ancestor.
- Wells revealed he only wants Barry's speed so he can return to the future and didn't mean to kill Barry's mom he meant to kill Barry
- Wells kills Cisco (won't last see last point)
- Barry reveals his identity to Iris, they finally kiss
- Barry time travels

And [SPOILER - highlight to read]: Cisco asked how Wells managed to be in two places at once and we saw it was just indeed an after image of himself from running back and forth at super speed.

We didn't know the context of that scene at the time. I mean it was pretty clear that it was going to be in reference to that but at that point it could have just been him showing he can go super speed.
