He means the trailer was in-game footage using the game engine.

From what I gather it looks like Nintendo is winning by default. While I should look at this as a positive, I also would like to point out that the Wii U has been in the western market for almost two years: up until this point it had little to show of being the first next-gen platform.
OK just watched the Microsoft Conference and Inside (from the guys that made Limbo) looks absolutely unbelievable! Ori and The Blind Forest, White Night, and Below all look great as well.
Though finding our more about Xenoblade Chronicles X, literally heartbroken that there's going to be a silent protagonist.

The only console of theirs that was bad outside of virtua boy is the Wii imo, which also happens to be their most successful. the Wii u itself isn't bad and I would have loved monster hunter 4 to be on it, nintendo just ****ed up with putting the console out there and in people's minds.
The Wii is not a bad console in the same sense the original Gameboy wasn't one either. A vastly underpowered machine can be succesful and entertaining.
IF what you meant is to qualify it depending on the games released in the console, well that's a different matter entirely.
The Pokemon Mini series are much less succesful than the Wii one way or another
