I'd have to agree with you. While only 12 episodes long, it was definitely memorable and enjoyable. Nothing quite like such a serious game of strategy and guile.
I like how it breaks the 4th wall every now and then. I'm really buying into the races and the ending made my jaw drop. I thought Shiro was going to ask for panties(being the perv he is lol) but nope. OWNED.

yeah, same here. also the ending to the anime was rather eye opening. I was staring the obvious right in the face, but I never put the dots together about there being 16 chess pieces and all until Sora pointed it out. no doubt due to me being so entertained in the first place.
