Just watched it. Was a lot of fun. Tho I think (yet again) that they missed the opportunity to really flesh out Hela. Comicbook movies need to really flesh out their villains a little better.

Hela was fine, just wish she [SPOILER - highlight to read]: had more attacks than those silly knives.

I thought Hela was one of the best comic book villains we’ve had in recent years. Especially amongst the MCU and DCEU.

I enjoyed Hela a lot more than I thought I would prior to the film.

There was one hidden scene with him and Asgardians. Might be misremembering, but think it was it.

Yeah, Sif and Volstagg took it to him at the end of TDW, because they didn't think it wise to keep two Infinity Stones close to each other, and they already had the Tesseract in Asgard. Though one wonders where it is now, considering another Infinity Stone basically blew up his place in GotG.

Just watched it. Enjoyable, entertaining film. Though Hela could have been a little less... childish.

There is something I need want to note though From the reactions of other characters and the dialogue [SPOILER - highlight to read]: basically none of Hulk's challengers had been remotely a threat to him. Every one was shocked the moment Thor started getting in decent hits and worried the Grandmaster. So the moment it looked like a threat, he intervened. It's not like he was going to take any chances.
[SPOILER - highlight to read]: And I'll say I'm not very fond of them making fun of the lullaby 😡😾👎

Don’t get me wrong. Hela is def one of the best villains we’ve seen so far in any recent superhero movie (tho this is due to the sad state of superhero movie villains recently). I just feel like they missed the chance to make her an epic one when they had all the opportunities to do so. Cate’s portrayal was pretty good, the villain design was great, she certainly was very threatening. Just needed a bit more backstory and wished her “entrance” wasn’t so abrupt.

10-15 mins of extra screentime with some more backstory would have added a new dimension to the character and made her great rather than just good.

Sometimes less is more IMO and more depth isn't always necessary. How many times have you seen the film ?

Nah didn’t need more background into Hela. We saw it from Thor’s POV and he didn’t know anything about her.

My only criticism would be that Thor should have had a scene with the warriors 3 before they got killed. Would have given their deaths more impact.

Although what might have been a better way to explain Hela is the beginning narration from Odin which was missing from this one.

Quote function is broken again. >_<

Anyway, I wasn’t hoping for more background info. I was hoping for more scenes that would give more emotional weight on her motivtations. Like I said, to flesh her out more. Tho, I do understand why they did it that way. Movie wanted to be light and fun. Having scenes that would make your evil villain’s motivations relatable (thus creating uneeded/unwanted conflict and depth) might not go well with the tone that they were going for.

Quan: saw it once. Sadly, as much as I wanna watch it again, time constraints (due to work) have been quite limiting. Barely managed to see it this one time. stick out tongue

Might end up skipping JL and SW til they come out on Itunes. Or maybe just go f- it and pirate them (then buy off itunes when the HD versions come out).

DT: that’s what I meant. A pre-opening prologue where we’re shown Hela’sbloodlust, Odin realizing she was evil then banishing her (and her looking on feeling betrayed by her own father as it happened) would have set the tone quite well. Tho, I do get that it would be quite cliched.

Idunno, the filmakers def know something I don’t so I’m betting they made the right decision looking at the big picture.

The quick quote works when the regular quite function doesn't. But it's still a pain in the ass. It was better the second time for me but there is nothing you can do with time restraints.

Definitely Skip JL as its crammed down into around 2 hours and I bet it's going to be sub par. The Last Jedi though looks quite epic so definitely try to make it out to see that.

I do hope you'll make it out in May to see Infinity War. Thanos is the villain of all villains and he's going to wreck shop. Ten years in the making. Epic.

Yeah, I’m quite the SW fan. S’why the reality of not being able to watch is kinda bumming me out. My sched frees up a lot by early 2018, but til then finding time to go out and watch anything has been quite the challenge. Got lucky with Thor falling on a few holidays. But unless I plan on spending Xmas and the New Year in the movies, SW might not be in the cards. >_<

Sacrifices might need to be made. Just check the reviews here the non spoiler ones. And then if people are loving it you may have to make the right choice and choose Star Wars. wink

Go with family on Christmas/New Year holidays. Seems that’s what people were doing with Force Awakens.
