Superman at a metafictional level

Dax Novu, the ‘radiant one’ (think of him as Lucifer) is sent by the Primal Monitor – the white page – to inspect/discover the concept of story/multiverse. After this contact, what remains is the image of Superman – the cosmic armor – that inspires the entire monitor race and the subsequent stories, and at the same time serves as the ultimate defender of existence, of the story, at a metafictional level, against the entropy of story itself – Mandrakk.

Superman fuses with Ultraman – a meeting of fundamental opposing concepts – and is propelled into the Cosmic Armor – the thought armor capable of instantly adapting to combat any thread – the embodiement of Superman himself – to protect all of existence against the ultimate enemy. And so begins the fight with Mandrakk. They both become stronger to equal the other. Superman’s story is the ultimate story – unstoppable, indestructible. “You…will..never! Get passed me!”.

Brilliant Thread, it shows two clear things, Superman has some pretty exotic high end powers and his basic power set as a combination for speed, strength etc. I much higher than his peers.

I'm almost scared of what the answer might be, but, in that scene on page 1 where Supes is fighting Mongul, given that Mongul has no chest plate or upper body ray devices like Iron Man or even Kraven the Hunter, where exactly is Mongul firing a beam from?
