How is something mixed if less than half the people who see it..liked it?
Also why would you feel there is some set definition of the phrase "mixed reaction" ? There is not.

So what does that say about the Sony leaks, then? Or his lacklustre appearances when promoting it? Sounds like conflicting information to me.
You say that like there isn't reason for them to be cynical about it, though. I mean, yes, you should definitely see a movie before rating it on most occasions, but going by the trailer for Ghostbusters, did it honestly appeal to you? If it did, great, but there are a fair number of people who looked at that and wondered wtf happened to Ghostbusters.
I mean all I can say is the trailer to me looks awful and I just can't imagine sitting through 90 minutes of that stuff.
In the past we've had issues with some movie studios showing TOO much of the good parts in trailers. It seems like they took the opposite approach to this. The controversy existed prior to the trailers, so wouldn't you want to release the best trailer you could in order to change minds?
Also here is something you rarely see mentioned: you know how it got all those dislikes on youtube? The most ever? It got like 800k, however it ALSO got like 200k+ likes on it. Just off the top of my head I really enjoyed Iron Man 3 so I looked up the trailers and the amount of likes and the most I found had like 30,000 likes. Hell the latest Avengers movie barely got twice as many "likes" compared to Ghostbusters. Recent Captain America movie got less than 700k in likes and considering just the amount of money it made and the amount of praise it got..it still only had about 3 times as many likes, as opposed to like dozens of times more likes.

All I know is that I gave the movie a chance and it did not deliver IMO. It seemed to treat the "female cast" aspect of the film as crutch rather than a means to actually stand on its own. Also it doesn't help the film any when it has a lame villain and not a whole lot of ghost busting.
Or when they recycle shit from the first movie. I mean a remake doesn't mean you LITERALLY do that, the Stay Puft man didn't need to show up, you guys couldn't imagine another ghost?
I mean hey at least they didn't make the ghost from the Ghostbusters logo the main villain, that would of been so very lame.

Changing the genders of the characters in a failed attempt to be edgy is a bit much too don't you think?
This is 2016 and the gender/race swapping gimmick just plain isn't gonna fly anymore.

Also just because I'm curious, if the movie had done super well at the box office do you think people would still be singing the "box office doesn't matter" tune?
Followup, if the critics score on RT was like 30% and the GA score was at 90%, would people ignore that and still just concentrate on the critic reviews?

You don't even have to ask, Just look at how DT reacted to the critic and GA response to BvS.
I also like how he keeps claiming the reviews have been pretty good when the average reviews on RT have been 6.5/10, 6.3/10 and 3.1/5. IOW between 62 and 65%.

Never let anyone else define you. Don't be a jerk just to be a jerk, but if you are expressing your true inner feelings and beliefs, or at least trying to express that inner child, and everyone gets pissed off about it, never NEVER apologize for it. Let them think what they want, let them define you in their narrow little minds while they suppress every last piece of them just to keep a friend that never liked them for themselves in the first place.
The average score on metacritic from 52 of the most popular critics is 60%. In terms of score brackets, ghostbusters is neck and neck with Age of Ultron (66%), Deadpool (64%), Fast and Furious 6 (61%), James Bond Spectre (60%), Anchorman 2 (61%), Godzilla (60%), Kingsman: Secret Service (58%) and Every Thor movie (57% and 54%). And that's just naming a few.
So if you wanna say ghostbusters is terrible you have to say that for every other movie that gets a similar critical reception.
