Matt's interactions with Frank in S2 were great (especially the rooftop conversation about killing and morality), but it had weaker moments in other areas of the season. For me, the writing throughout this season was top notch.

I'd say it still hit a speed bump when it came to [SPOILER - highlight to read]: Karen's backstory

That was definitely the slowest episode, kept imagining vampires and werewolves out in the countryside ... Not quite Bon Temp but oh well.

Hmm, wonder if they could make her a vampire at some stage? Dracula does interact with the street levellers, I think.

Episode 6 with the [SPOILER - highlight to read]: newspaper room first fight between Bullseye and Matt and damn they keep turning the action up a notch.

This really blows all the other Netflix shows away. Like combined.

The last season was overall very good.

Bits I didn't like include the fbi agent getting pooped on by everyone. "Why didn't you do anything?" He DID. And he found out the conspiracy went higher then he could imagine.

And he died anyways. It was just plain unfair character bashing.

Also didn't much see the point of the art lady and Fisk. What, to prove he's not a total monster? Too little, too late.

Finally, the typical church bashing got me. Fighting in a church, Matt's priest being shown at a pool hall, Matt's mother being neurotic because of her faith.

You see Christian or Catholic bashing all the time in Hollywood, and it stands out everytime. They'd never think of doing that with a synagog, or a mosque, or with some other non mainsteam faith (Except asians.)

This season was nearly as good as Season 1, which is still one of my favourite seasons of any show ever. The tension got racked up to almost unbearable heights starting with episode 6, and I was wondering how there could be any happy resolution coming.

One of the best surprises was the characterization of Bullseye. Once the season ended, I thought he deserved some kind of spinoff to explore him as a disturbed anti-hero.

Uhhh... anti-hero? He's [SPOILER - highlight to read]: a full-blown psycho with zero empathy, who's been torturing and killing things since he was a kid. Even with the people he supposedly "cares" about, he only does so while they do everything he wants. Pretty much the moment they say no, he turns on them, which shows that he doesn't actually give a crap about them. Just what they can provide him. Which also links to his Borderline Personality Disorder.

Too many spoilers to get into, but let's just say I saw him a little differently after he went to (likely) kill Sister Maggie, but changed his mind & felt guilty after he heard bystanders talk about how sick it was for someone to kill a priest - which he did, inadvertently. Then the voices came into his head loudly and he locked himself away. It was a reminder that Dex/Bullseye is mentally disturbed and it's other people who take & direct his homicidal impulses. He's like Dexter Morgan who never got a mentor like Harry as a kid, to show him how to channel his darker self.

I just picture someone recruiting him from jail - someone in the government, putting together an initiative like the Thunderbolts to get him to kill on their behalf and how he finally gets over letting bad people control him. He's may not be as redeemable as the Punisher (as killers go) but this Bullseye has some shades of gray to him.

This was probably my favourite season of any superhero show. Sans Heroes Season 1.

Characters all so well developed, story flowed so well. And wow the action. Started off cool in like Episode 3, then every big action scene after that just got bigger and better right up until the finale.

I read that church scene somewhat differently to you then. Because there were other things he did as well which solidified things for me, personally. And you could apply that mentor logic to a bunch of fictional evil psychopaths.

But eh, not saying some kind of rehabilitation is out of the question. Just need someone who can actually keep him in check and on track (like his psychiatrist did when younger), but who doesn't also happen to be a super-villain (like Fisk).

Personally, I don't think they'll go the anti-hero route though. I think that if we see him again, he will be full-on villain Bullseye, hell bent on destroying everyone who has ever crossed him, and otherwise doing whatever he pleases.

Well given that [SPOILER - highlight to read]: Fisk is unlikely to come back I think Bullseye should stick on the bad side. [SPOILER - highlight to read]: The final scene certainly suggested that in any case.

Daredevil canceled after 3 seasons.

https://deadline.com/2018/11/darede...ons-1202511521/

So looks like the worries about Disney reclaiming these Netflix shows were legit, or something like that is going on. Streaming wars have begun, surely JJ and Punisher are next to follow.

Just saw and was about to post. Punisher and JJ should still be getting their 2nd seasons next year at least, but will no doubt be done after that.

Yeah, sounds like Disney has some kind of plans for DD at least, probably will move it to their streaming service since it's the most popular show.

Punisher, though, can't see that one on Disney's streaming service since they've said they're keeping it a PG-13 service. Best case scenario for Punisher is perhaps moving it over to Hulu.

Yeah. Honestly, it seems that the only reason they are even getting that is because they were already deep into production when all this came to a head.

Seriously though, I would rather have 3 good seasons of a darker toned DD than have Disney just turn it into every other PG-13 MCU property. I mean don't get me wrong. I love the MCU. But the Netflix shows added a bit of versatility in tone to what we get from the films and other TV shows.

:/

Hopefully they at least continue the show. After all, this is in continuity with the MCU. I hope rights don't get in the way.

I'm kind of torn. On the one hand, Daredevil is one of my absolute favourite characters, and the show one of my all time favourite comic book shows. So, I obviously don't want it to end.

But, at the same time, I doubt the qualities that made it that way will carry over if it goes to Disney streaming. No way is Disney doing the kind of plot line we got in DD s3 if they are planning to market to a mass audience (which they most likely will), never mind the brutal fights etc.

Yebo. Disney made it very clear this year they have a stick up their ass and you'd best not touch that stick, because they will pull it out and beat you with it.

Well, looking at a few articles, it does sound like there are definitely plans on using the character again, if the whole being involved with "future Marvel projects" comments are anything to go by.

But yeah, judging by how Disney has responded to criticism and such in recent times, not overly optimistic.

This is the saddest news ive received in recent times.

I legit might cancel my Netflix subscription now. Would be fitting as well as I signed up when the first season of Daredevil was coming.

Dont really care if Marvel still use the character. Wont be the same if its PG-13. And lets not pretend Netflix had nothing to do with the quality.
