True story Ben Kingsley was originally slated to play Vulture in Spider-Man 3.

When you think about it..characters like that aren't exactly easy to do live action. I don't necessarily mean they are hard to do CGI-wise, but IMO Venom needs to be built up as a character. I don't mean HYPED up, but built up..as in we need to see him in a movie or two as just Eddie Brock before he becomes Venom.
In Spider-Man 3 with Venom they decided to just make Eddie Brock essentially just sort of like the dark side of Peter. Which I think could of been interesting, but it wasn't handled correctly.
Essentially we got a shitty Venom because people were screaming for Venom, they wanted him bad. It's probably why Vulture was taken out of Spider-Man 3 and they just shoved Venom in.
I know this is almost taboo to say in regards to comic films, but you know what? I'd love an ORIGINAL villain.
If they do Venom I liked the way the Peter/Eddie relationship unfolded in the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon. They were good friends and it was partially Peter's own behavior that pushed Eddie away. It wasn't Peter was doing stuff wrong, but because he would have to essentially disappear in order to go be Spider-Man there were a lot of times Peter seemed to just bail whenever danger showed up and his friends(who didn't know his secret) just rightfully took offense.

To be fair in the past they have taken what I had thought were utterly lame villains and made them interesting. I thought Doc Ock was f*cking lame until Alfred Molina came along.

That's what I'm getting at. If they change him to be interesting rather than lame, I don't have a problem with that. But, if that's the case, why not simply use an interesting villain in the first place?
I love me some Vulture too. I've read stories I've loved for basically every classic Spidey villain, and Toomes is no different. I'm on-board with him being the villain.
I am also on-board with Shocker being in too. He's one of my favorite Spidey villains TBH. I always love the dudes dialogue and encounters with Spidey. Thats banter at it's best.
Tinkerer is one of my least favorites, but even he's brought stories I've enjoyed. I just hope they don't overdo the villains. I also hope they don't have Tinker make Vultures flight harness or Shockers gauntlets. They made their own gear. Having so many engineer type villains seems like their going to make Toomes and Shocker a bit more typical and have Tinker be the man making their suits which takes away from their character a bit IMO. He's also usually in someones employ. I'm betting he's going to be a former SHIELD engineer in this, or working for Kingpin who's mainly in the background. I'm hoping for the second.
Also, a few of Hollands random stunts for any who care. This kid will be great.
