Enter the Matrix (computer game)

I don't know how many of you have seen the deal with this, or even played it. I do not know if the game is any good, either. But I thought the concept behind it was worth some merit.

For those of you who do not know, 'Enter the Matrix' is the new Matrix computer game, a ghame in the style of Max Payne (unsurprising, as Payne was in the styler of the original Matrix film complete with bullet time)

However, the important bit is the way that this is the most integrated film/game project I have ever seen. This is not just a lazy association or tie-in, it is directly linked to the film in all ways. The scenes in it are considered canon scenes taking place at the same time as the film (whilst the camera is elsewhere), controlling one of two characters from the film, affecting film plotlines. It contains film footage of the plotline that I believe is not used in the film, the plot was written by the two brothers, the scenes directed by the two brothers, all being shot around the same time the film was (unsurprising, seeing as it is part of the general plot with the same people!)

It also links the animated short "Last Flight of the Osiris" to the main film plot, or that was the impression I got from the trailer, anyhow.

It could be that the game is crap, of course, but the stylistic idea behind it all strikes me as very wonderful. Maybe more games of movies can be constructed with such close harmony in mind in future?

Yeah the plot does tie in and does shine some light on a few Reloaded questions. Nonetheless, like Reloaded, makes many more questions as well.

As far as Game play goes it has a crapload of cut scenes and in my opinion is awesome to look at and watch, but is not going to when any game play awards. Its a fun game especially if you like the Matrix Reloaded, but for hardcore gamers its mediocre at best.

i'm a pretty hardcore gamer, but i'm gonna get it nonetheless. i loved the matrix, and i know they've put a lot of effort into the game. they've shot over an hours worth of footage for the game itself, and i've seen documentaries and such. this is supposed to be just plain awesome. everysingle movement in the game has been taken from real life. real actors who did all the fighting moves all the running, all the walking, all the crazy other stuff, what ever you can do in the game, someone did it in real life, and they took that to a computer. that's just amazing. i'm going to get it regardless

Oh yeah I would recommend it to anyone who loves the Matrix, I just didn't want anyone to go in expecting solid game play. Visually its amazing!

i think the game's good. Even only for those bullet times. What would have max payne been without them...a massive killing.
Doubt the thing's gonna work on my pc..and it takes 3gb of hard space...
(i have a pretty bad organised HDD)

Max Payne DID become a tadette repetitive anyway... I think it must win the 'most used quick save' award because no-one could be arsed to go through bits they had already done again.

well the game is supposed to be tied in with the movie unlike any other game before. i just bought it last night and from what i have seen so far it is pretty cool, it has a lot of footage from the movie, sort of, i should say footage that was filmed specifically for the game. when you start the game there is like a 10 minute intro tying the footage in with the game play. its pretty sweet but i hope i dont have to watch it everytime i turn it on.

A girl that works for my dad is married to a guy that worked on 'Enter the Matrix'.

It looks like it will hit the console systems too. Blockbuster already has it in stock for GameCube.

Good, I like easy to beat but showy games. big grin

The guy I know that worked on the cut scenes said there would be 6 discs for the game. That was about a year ago though.

Nope only one. With the exception of the Gamecube version. Which has 2.

Ghost is the asian guy who's friends with Niobe, or at least is on her ship. cube uses less discs because they use the dvd type mini discs which hold way more information

And I believe he is a guns specialist (whilst Niobe is a driver). Or maybe the other way around. Ummm...

your right about the niobe driver and ghost a gun spec. so far the game is alright. it is awesome fighting but there just seems to be something missing from it.
