Freeza's role in recent episodes is to briefly attack and then be KO'ed, be forgotten, till he wakes up and does the same thing over, and Ko'ed once again.
I can't believe that 17 is gone, like that. I mean it's a great way to go, canceling out the huge attack from someone as powerful as Jiren. But that was even more sad that Roshi's near death... Dude goes out with a smile and a quip to protect Goku and Vegeta for the last time out of the five thousand times he's saved everyone..

With how 17 went out like a champ, I'm not even mad now that he lasted as long as he has. And yeah, Jiren's backstory is nothing we haven't seen before, though I like what it leaves to be explored with a potential future villain.
Can't really complain about the next ep. Vegeta got to do as much as fanservice would've allowed him for the tournament, since he's not the main character. Just glad the doomsayers who said he would only get shit on were proven wrong.
Oh, as for Frieza, while his appearance was just another repetition of him being a punk that was put in his place, we kinda needed to see it as clarification/confirmation that he was still around somewhere, as him disappearing in the middle of the last episode with Toppo was kinda odd. Definitely got something planned for him, as redundant as here's getting here. The lack of additional power-up for him after Vegeta getting Ascended SSJB is still pretty meh though.
Should have just let Frieza remain lying down. Him lashing out like this is making his potential win more along the lines blind luck than machiavellian genius.
lol Freeza is going to win this shit I've been saying it for a while now and he's going to revive every universe ever wiped which will basically make him Thanos/Doom
its the only logical reason to bring him back and extend his character arc
