I thought that laser scene is to show Goku was sneak attacked from behind when he wasn't in his full guard. What makes you think it's Goku's defense at its best?

Yeah, Superman should stomp, he's too fast and would break Whis's neck before Whis could even react. Whis can't even move fast without his staff and it's linear speed.

Superman would literally break his fist on Whis' face.

Whis is considerably stronger and more durable. Not 100% sure on how they match up in terms of speed, but it doesn't matter. Whis clapping his hands would have a more pronounced effect than a punch from Superman. thumb up
