You know, I could handle the complete obsession with Michael Burnham, and her somehow being overacted in each scene even though she's supposed to have been raised on Vulcan. I could handle the terrible plotting and the weird, lifeless design choices of the series.

In return... I'd just like it to "feel" like it's the Star Trek universe. Have the people talk like Star Trek people do. People complain about the Klingon makeup, but more than that I dislike how much their actual culture was changed.

Picard is guilty of this shit too, but I mean, I can watch Voyager and Enterprise, even with their faults, because at their core they were still being made by people that were trying to make a Star Trek show. Characters in that show, good or bad, still spoke and acted like people in a Star Trek show.

And all the ****ing retcons. JFC.

Also, does anyone remember that episode of the Simpsons about Poochy?

Personally I would have found it a lot more interesting if Michael was a vulcan(not even half human, just pure vulcan) who had, for whatever reason, been completely raised by humans. A vulcan who had not been exposed to the vulcan culture.

The Nu-Trek films also ran into this issue. They didn't feel like Trek films they felt like Star Wars films featuring Star Trek characters. If you listen to the commentary for the first movie JJ Abrams even acknowledges this, admits tv trek was more akin to submarine warfare and that they were making a trek star wars movie.

And yes I remember the Poochy episode.

I prefer Philippa Georgiou over Michael.

Yeah it was cool, but why [SPOILER - highlight to read]: was she able to take several shots from that gun and keep going? I assumed the setting was on stun, but even so how come repeated shots didn't stop her?

That might have worked, but alas it's starting to look like they're even going further with the "Michael is so special and humble and wonderful" stuff this season, without even trying to stay consistent.

Yeah, Michael is basically Poochie by this point.

And the burn is still dumb as ****.

Doug Jones confirmed that season 4 has started filming.

Episode 4... Honestly, it further cemented my belief that there's at least one or two people in the writer's room that come up with good ideas. Ideas that, dare I say it, would feel like Star Trek if executed the way they've said. It's just that before long, someone is asking "how can we make this about Michael?" or "Where does Michael fit in?". And from that point on it just starts to fall apart.

Also, the ratings have not been good for the broadcast on non-subscription services.

Saru is still great though. He's the best part of every episode, even when written badly.

I probably meant 3. Honestly I forget what game I was thinking of, I actually liked 2 a lot. Even the part where I had to restart a save from way back near the start because I wanted to save everyone.

And then I forgot to get a love interest, and said "**** it" and got it post game.

Burnham is an absolute shit character who constantly drags the show down.

She is shit just like Rey in Star Wars constantly making everything center around them. It's telling when Discovery is at its best when Burnham is not around.

Hated ep 4 to the point I fell asleep at the last 15mins or so and didn't bother watching it after I woke up.

5 was better and it ended with promise.

This show is just okay; I kinda only watch it because it's Trek.
