I'm not going to go into it looking for a good story, I just want action and cool visuals. Might get that, might not.
One departure from the source material (besides apparently retconning the Burning Legion connection (i don't know--maybe that's still in) is how big the orcs are. Yes, orcs were always pretty tall and buff, average 6'5", but in this they're apparently averaging at close to 7' and strong enough to chuck a horse. In the games, humans were always strong enough to hang with orcs, but in this movie it seems like orcs are hands down superior.

So I looked at the cast list. Khadgar and Garona are both characters, as is the Guardian Medivh, as well as Gul'dan. Nice, this might actually resemble the original game somewhat. Garona is one of my favorite characters from Warcraft, so I hope they do her justice.

The plot is basically the plot of Warcraft: Orcs and Humans, except Dalaran is apparently already floating in the sky.
Also I get the sense that the Alliance of Lordaeron will play a role in this movie, whereas that wasn't formed until the Second War (WCII) when the elves, dwarves, and gnomes joined with the Northern human kingdoms to fight the orcs.

I just hope the movie does well for game to movie adaptations. With a good reception, financially, Which to me does.... maybe next they could do Starcraft.
I didn't care for the trailer too much, but I still might check it out
