Just got back from this. It was okay, definitely not the same impact as the first, but still entertaining for the most part. The soundtrack was the most disappointing part. The music sucked this time, there was no energy and fun in it like there was in the first. There wasn't a decent song until the credits. And the story wasn't very interesting until the 3rd act or so, but definitely some more good eye-candy and humor. I agree that some of the humor felt a bit too forced this time, so some of it fell flat, but I still found myself laughing a good bit.
[SPOILER - highlight to read]: One thing that I can't get over though is Yondu's death. The first movie proved that Peter can survive in space without protection for a few minutes, so Yondu needed that force field thing more than he did. Second, why doesn't EVERY spaceship have those damn things? They're extremely useful. To me, Yondu's death felt like just as much of a cop out as Jonathan Kent's death in Man of Steel.
I liked it but not as much as the first. I thought the humor was fine for the most part that. The issue I had with it was that certain times it went over the top with being overly "wacky/cartoonish". They never went that far in the first , and it messed up the tone for me in a few scenes in the sequel.
Kinda felt like a parody of GOTG in those instances instead of GOTG that we were used to from the first film.
Like i said I enjoyed it overall, but that was what bothered me about it.

Did anyone notice that Drax seemed like a totally different character this time? He was laughing and being quite silly the whole time instead of being the dark guy who's family got killed. He even seemed to understand metaphor this time (can't remember the exact line, but I think Quill compared him to something and Drax at least made an attempt to understand the reference). He seems to have forgotten that he wanted to kill Thanos now. I found that odd. I guess because they had to put that whole storyline on the backburner for now...
