Gender: Male Location: In Luna's mane, chasing STAAARS!
I'm gonna withhold from getting this for the time being. First whenever someone on here does play the game, I would like a confirmation if there are giant boss battles and I mean giant. Don't need to be told who you fight, just if they're giant. I'm for gorgeous scenery and clearing fodder out in the most brutal ways as Kratos much as the next person but what really sold me most on the God of War series to begin with was the bosses the size of buildings and/or mountains.

Never let anyone else define you. Don't be a jerk just to be a jerk, but if you are expressing your true inner feelings and beliefs, or at least trying to express that inner child, and everyone gets pissed off about it, never NEVER apologize for it. Let them think what they want, let them define you in their narrow little minds while they suppress every last piece of them just to keep a friend that never liked them for themselves in the first place.
From what I can tell, there's only one real giant boss. When it comes to the enemies, this game seems to be more of a set up for bigger and better things down the road. The norse appetizer, not the main event.
When you put it like that, sounds a little like they held too much back.
Classic games like the original God of War, Ninja Gaiden, or Devil May Cry sure didn't feel like setups. Those games had thrills from start to finish.

The bosses in this game will be significantly smaller, but that’s not a turn off for me. After all, this game is a soft reboot and is going in a new direction.
I dunno. Part of the appeal with the original GoW games were the massive bosses. Though as long as they manage to keep up the ridiculous over-the-top nature of the games, it’s not a deal breaker though it is a bit disappointing.
It's like Uncharted 4 getting rid of all the over the top action sequences in favor of the better story and character development. I loved those aspects, but the game still ended up being me second to least favorite UC. I want to be in collapsing skyscrapers, derailing trains, and crashing airplanes. Not exploring huge empty maps.
At least Kratos and his son may be able to carry the story like Joel and Ellie though. The problem with UC going that route is that the characters were never really all that three dimensional with the exception of Sully. Drake himself was always kind of one note especially. Kratos was too in prior games. This game looks like it will flesh out Kratos a ton.
Playing it already. If the first 30 of the game is any indication, then I'm hooked. Love the new fight system. There is a certain weight and impact in every swing and movement and controls are responsive as heck. And the setting is really interesting and they got the "Viking" vibe just right.
Loving it.
Edit. Also LOVING the idea that Kratos is now this old and rusty warrior (I can almost feel his bones creak like mine does at times) with a child to look out for. I can REALLY relate and I feel that the series that I loved since from over a decade ago grew up with me. Cuz I feel exactly how he feels.

Installing this game now. Probably gonna watch a recap video of the older games as it's been a long time since I've played or even thought about this series and don't really remember what the hell happened other than Kratos is mad about something or another.
Not as nice as the PS5 one with prototype games, mind. God of War 1.5D, attack on Christianity has to be seen to be believed.

[SPOILER - highlight to read]: First or second quest, where you fight Thor in Newgame plus?
