Jim Carey as Chip Douglas: You're offering me a bribe. What you have just done is illegal, and in this state if convicted you could be fined up to $5000 or spend six months in a correctional facility.
Mathew Broderick as Steven Kovacs: Oh oh please no, that was dumb. I was just..I was just making conversation.

Hey, just to throw my two cents in, I am a, how was it worded, "religous freak", and feel that the movie was great.

I love anything and everything Jim Carrey does. This one was pretty good, but not great. It had a good plot, good acting, good ending. But there wasn't that extra something. Like in "Dumb and Dumber" the characters were so classic. A movie that otherwise was pretty normal was made great by Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels genius. But in this one, there wasn't anything extra special.
I speculate that actors like Jim Carrey need to keep doing a continuous flow of scripts to stay in the business. This was one of those good but not great scripts.
