I am kind of alone on kmc hyping the new trilogy. Most were excited for rogue one over this. Defies imagination.

You are alone in thinking that TFA was a better movie then R1?

Because even I agree that TFA is INF BETTER then the Shit ball that is R1.

Not completely alone but in the minority. I'm talking about enthusiasm prior to Rogue One as compared to episode 8. Many said they were way more excited for rogue one in direct comparison mainly due to their lukewarm feelings for the newer characters especially the amazing villains. They simply don't believe in Snoke or Kylo. Terrible.

Is there any hope that this next film will get into some new territory and not rehash the same stuff from the original trilogy?

Rogue One is a horrible movie. It was extremely boring and to me that is one of the worst things a movie can be. $200 million dollars for such a boring and tensionless war film? That's inexcusable, so it really just reeked of money-grubbing and milking of the fans. There was no other reason to throw in A Boring Star Wars Story into the mix in addition to the continuation of the regular Episodes. I never thought I'd say it, but Rogue One made me yearn for JJ Abrams (whoa!). TFA is a far better film than Rogue One. Darth Autism (as my friend likes to refer to Kylo Ren, lol) and Mary Sue Jedi were sort of irritating, but at least they were interesting characters. No one in Rogue One was remotely interesting. Rogue One was a bunch of hanging around on ships and a couple motivational speeches here and there. Some nice looking effects, sure, but they were completely empty because all the characters were cardboard cut-outs. The tone of the film was inconsistent, especially at the end when everyone died and they start playing the up-beat regular Star Wars themes during the credits. And because of the lack of Star Wars music it didn't even feel like "A Star Wars Story." So I guess they tacked on the music during the credits to remind everyone. Terrible film.

Well the new trilogy has superior characters and with time they heads at lucasfilms will try riskier projects. The same happened with marvel studios. Gotg and Dr. Strange for examples and they worked out beautifully.

.

Rogue One was the CLEAREST example of why FAN FICTION should not be allowed into Hollywood.

Is it a clearer example than 50 Shades of Grey?

I hope you're right. But I think that as long as people keep shelling out money to see them, they will keep doing the same things over and over. No need for anything new if they still make tons of money.

They realize if things become stale that won't continue to happen hence the riskier films from the marvel studios.

I didn't say that was there first risk but it was a gamble considering the budget and was a smashing success. Listen to what I say not what your infantile and retarded mind thinks I said. Unlike you who champions rogue one and similar stories over new ground and new characters. Can't wait for this film but you still at least have Rogue One.

Every film in Phase I was a gamble. Besides IM2 they never did a film that was a guaranteed hit until Post-Avengers. Before then they had no idea how audiences would react to Iron Man, Thor and Captain America. In fact TIH didn't make much money. That could have happened to all of them.

And putting them all together was a massive gamble (in those days, nowadays everyone knows it's a proven formula thanks to Marvel).

Rogue One was frigging Awesome you boring git.
