I will take your word for it as you have obviously seen it and I have not. Nor will I.

Gratuitous sex? In Matrix Reloaded? Ah, come on, good people. I suppose next will come a thread about the “orgy” in the cave, which was nothing but the Zion-population having a last party before the final war.
And to attract horny teenagers when the movie is rated “R”, and you’d have no way of knowing the scene was happening before stepping into the movie?
I must say I enjoyed it as much of the rest of the movie. It shows very human aspects of our otherwise kick-ass leather-clad heroes and heroines, and how deep the love between Neo and Trinity is.
There is no “sex” in M1, but anyone telling me the Matrix outfits are not sexy need to have their eyes checked. And as to the baby-blah. It is perfectly possible for humans to have sex without it resulting in a baby. Neo and Trinity were not trying to procreate the species. They are in love!

sure omega..we are aware that they are simply in love and they had sex but do the brothers really have to overemphasize the whole thing? a kiss is just more than enough..

Alaba> No one complains about violence in movies (including this signature). No one complains about the action-scenes being overdone to emphasise a thing.
I thought the love-scene between Neo and Trinity was quite beautiful and not overdone what so ever. It showed us how deeply in love Neo and Trinity are. Something which is such an important theme, that Neo chooses Trinity over Zion (at least in theory) in the end.
If anything is overemphasized it is the use of CGI-scripts in the battle between Neo and Smith. I don’t mind that either, but it doesn’t further the plot that the fight is very long. big grin

I complain about violence and sex in movies. And what you just said is nonsense.

Gordonskywalker> Ah, forgive me. I didn’t notice you complained about the violence in the Matrix movies. And what I said is not nonsense. If you don’t understand it, please have the courtesy to explain what part, so us with English as a second language can clarify a point, or to explain your opinion.

Sex is not necessary in movies even if it is to demonstrate the love two main characters feel for each other. I disagree as is my right. That is the part I was making noise about.

For those who said in other chats that the oracle planted the seed of love in trin and neo . The love scene makes more real the love between them. So u see even is the seed was planted>>THEY REALLY LOVE EACH OTHER. So u see it has to be this way. Personaly i really liked this scene .

I stand by my convictions. Nothing personal to anyone here who likes that sort of thing. It is all strictly business.

Tex> Oh, hush. You’re ruining my point ;D

GordonSkywalker> Sure, everyone is entitled to their opinion. One thing is I don’t object to the scene, but my initial objection is to call it gratuitous. Or overdone.
Another thing is calling my arguments nonsense. That is not simply business.

GordonSkywalker> Nothing personal. I love a good argument anytime. It’s just damn hard to discuss anything when there are no arguments.

omega, first of all don't take this personal, and second, yeah the brothers want us to know those two are deeply in love but hey, we are not dumb..it doesnt take an overconcentrated scene to explain to us that those two are truly in love..imean, look at tom hanks and meg ryan in seapless in seattle, they didnt have to pull their pants and skirts to show us they were in love? unless the brothers actually made the film for the mentally retarded and had to go all that lenght to explain a point. unproffessional dont you think?

I agree there are better ways to get the point across than two people stripping and hanging all over each other. That is disgusting to me and I surely cannot be the only one who feels that way.

Excuse me but I see no problem - how can it be digusting? It's the way the world works. You will have sex someday (maybe...) get it intoo your head - PEOPLE HAVE SEX!!! And say you actually had a girlfriend - would you say a game of tonsil tennis is more romantic then making love? This film is not a cheap porno movie - did you see any 'unnecessary' parts of either Trinity or Neo?

........no?? Then SHUT UP!

icharus, we all know people have sex but hey do you understand what we've been disscusing? it didnt have to be that elaborated. a little bit of kising and maybe a ten second scene would have done it.
