Marvel Comics' Medusa, wife of Black Bolt, has hair that responds to her mental commands. it is so long and thick that she goes through 30 bottles of shampoo per month! she can use it as a parachute!
Something similar with a T Bolts character, Charcoal. Creator won a contest and he became part of the MU for a time.
Not sure why, but Marvel hadda stop using him, he was cool though. (please log in to view the image) (please log in to view the image)
Up until the Crisis, Mr. Miracle was on Superman and Barda's level physically. In fact, he defeated Barda in a h2h fight (Although Barda wasn't in her right mind.)
Obviously, he's been depowered to Spidey level, give or take. Which kind of doesn't add up, when you consider all other New Gods are high end bricks, yet Scott isn't..

May have figured odds are, 1% (Or whatever) of a likely failed project vs rent this monrh

George R.R. Martin(yes, the writer of Game of Thrones) was first 'published' in the letters section of F4 #20 (1963), when he wanked the bejesus out ofwrote to Jack Kirby and Stan Lee:
Elvis loved reading comic books as a boy.
His favorite hero was Captain Marvel, Jr. In fact, according to legend, it was this character that inspired his jet black hair with the curl hanging down in the middle of his forehead.
Elvis was actually blond.
Thunderbolts also used the character Humus Sapien, who was also created by a fan for a magazine contest in 1973. As the winner he was supposed to be used in one of Stan Lee's stories but it never happened... until the Thunderbolts writer finally used him in a story in 2001.
