In the 60s, the mostly 5 toed Hulk was occasionally drawn with 3 toes. Sometimes 4.
This was actually subtly addressed in AVENGERS FOREVER:

To be fair, Spider-Man himself sometimes forgets that, and the formula of the webbing HAS changed, along with the total time it takes the substance to weaken and evaporate:
