I mean, seriously, who is trolling whom? YOU are the quanchi-esque troll that you keep accusing me of being. So get back to torturing puppies or whatever it is you do..
It certainly looks a hell of a lot better than the 2nd one.
Yeah, so I caved and watched the new trailer a coupla times. I think it looks like it'll have a certain fun factor and wit that the others didn't. Personally I think his line at the end of the trailer is great. If there's good wit like that sprinkled about it should elevate it quite a lot. That's what Venom was severely missing (not to mention the extremely restrictive PG-13 rating).
In my mind it seems fitting that a character from hell should have an R-rated treatment. So it should feel more natural this time.
That's true, but that probably won't win any sequels. Who knows, maybe it will surprise us financially, but it will probably take a miracle.
Hell, even the original Hellboy films were not hugely successful and they were PG-13 and likely didn't have a juggernaut film like Avengers to compete with. Oh, wait, just looked it up, and Hellboy II got demolished by The Dark Knight when it was released (Source). So apparently the Hellboy brand is cursed.
I don't know the budget for this film, though. I can't find it. Does anyone know the Production budget? From the same source as above, though, he says it's made "cheaply enough that it really only has to do okay around the world." Competing against Avengers, though, that's probably unrealistic optimism.
Honestly I've never understood the logic or argument people make that one film will suffer because it's in the shadow of a bigger budgeted & marketed film...?
One would argue both films will attract the same class of audience.
I don't understand the notion that the average movie goer will decide on one film over the other simply because their release dates are close to each other...?
I have friends who enjoy getting together & seeing a different movie
every week.
