My parents divorced when I was 10. I remember going to my mom and stepdad's house every other weekend, and every other weekend a Bond movie accompanied my younger brother and myself. Also, the TBS/TNN/TNT Bond movie marathons were part of the definitive Christmas traditions at my house as much as family dinners, shopping, and opening gifts.
Since Sir Roger Moore had over a third (at the time) of the Bond movie catalog, I always seemed to catch one of his (or sometimes Connery's) films. Whether it was one of the franchise's best in the The Spy Who Loved Me, an over-the-top action romp in Octopussy, or even one of the low points in A View to A Kill, Moore always delivered as 007 with effortless suave.
Man, I relish those times with my parents and younger brother: no matter what, you know Moore was the superspy who was gonna save the world at the end of the day.
He and Craig are at the top of my list of Bond actors. Praying for the Roger Moore family during this time.
