Starro stomps.

His TP alone was bolstered by nine galaxies-worth of sentient beings(literally hundredS of trillionS of minds), and powerful enough to completely overwhelm a telepath of Despero's caliber:

I'm pretty sure it was a fairly big hit when it first came out and it eventually gained a huge cult following. I think it suffered over time because of serious continuity issues in regards to the sequels and the series. Even if we outright ignore part 2 for being a horrible abomination(which it IS) there's just too many things that don't line up because the first movie was supposed to be the last movie, there wasn't supposed to be any kind of follow up. Conner won the prize, period.

That doesn't mean that I don't love the franchise as a whole because I do, but they're are HUGE problems with virtually every movie and therefor the series because the two are tied together.

Box office flop Goobs, it made 15 million on a 25 million budget. It made it on video and yes I agree with everything else you said totally.

Wow I stand corrected then. For some reason I was under the impression that the first one did well.

Wait a second, do you mean it only made 15 mill in America or internationally? Lots of movies SEEM like bombs going by stats in America but are huge successes overall. For instance Waterworld was actually a pretty big money maker despite flopping here.

Not Higlander sadly, well it had more success, but not big numbers.

Box office-wise, in the United States, the movie only took in $2,453,021 in its opening weekend and ended up grossing $5,735,847. However, the movie had more success internationally, taking in $12,885,193.

It did great on video.

The franchise is a complete and utter mess from the first film onward. Ever other film made should have taken place(from a chronological POV) BEFORE the first film if they wanted to expand the franchise by introducing different immortals and such. At least THAT would have made more sense than random immortals popping up AFTER Connor had already won the prize and become the last immortal, lol.

The first film simply left NO real room for expansion in the typical 'Highlander' sense. Connor beat the game, and that's that.

Ah... yeah that's just sad. Makes you wonder why they ever tried a sequel.I'm glad they did because it eventually led to the series(which is what originally hooked me), but if the first one lost 10 mill internationally I certainly wouldn't have funded a second if I were a producer.
