I actually like Rouge more since she lost her stolen powers and can only use her own mutant powers. It's much more interesting to see how she takes them to use this way and how she manages a fight without the security of her Ms.Marvel abilities.
What i still don't understand is, why she can't control her powers by now or why she isn't wearing at least a device that helps her control them, just like Cyclops or Surge?!

Ummmm, has anyone taken into consideration the fact that Rogue IS Rogue while anna P. is just a little girl doing a bad acting job? Do you read tha comics? She was written to be the character in the comics. Wow...

It's not Anna's fault, it's the writers'. How can she have personality and look powerful if she gets trapped in seat-belts and has to say lines like "Are you gonna kill me?". She just did what she was asked to. Or did you expect Anna to argue with director and crew to get Rogue powerful? Halle did that and was forever called an as*hole and silly actress, and thats because she's much more known and experient. Anna would probably get in trouble if she complained (and she did complain, saying that movie Rogue's got the lamest powers). She could do no miracle...

Ok, the part about the writers you are right on about. I personally don't think Anna is that great of an actress but if she is your cup of tea I'll stay off her. One thing I will argue with you on however is the Halle thing. In the first X-men movie she wasn't the big award winner and if you will notice she had the Storm accent. Respect to her in that one. The second one she just played Halle in an X-men suit. Don't know if they asked her to change the accent but she didn't even have any of the same quirks as in the first. But Anna did her best I'm sure and for that there is no shame.

i dont get your point entirely...
about Storm, i dont say anything from X1 to X2, but from X2 to X3. She was already one of the sexiest, talented and recognized actress of the world, then she decided to complain, complain, complain...and when everyone was getting sick of her, voila, she got the best Storm we'll probably ever get in the trilogy, and a respectful acting job so far. What i mean is, had Anna Paquin complained about Rogue, she would probably be screwed by the crew. Okay, she won an Oscar and IMO she's a better actress than Halle, but she's not even 10% as recognized and famous as Halle.

Had Rogue been all sassy and sexy since the first movie, would Anna be able to play her well? i dont think so, she was only 17 years. That doesnt make her a bad actress, but for the role they gave her, i think she's doing quite great...

My taste is my taste. You can have your opinion on the whole matter and I'll have mine. I just think that Storm was much better in the first movie because she followed the actual character. And you are right. Anna would not have been able to play the Sassy Rogue we have come to know and love. That is why she was a bad choice in my opinion. She did what she could with the role I'm sure but I doubt the crew would have done anything to her if she were to comment. She is an actress. She is able to state her opinion on a character and not get a back hand in the face for it because she is famous. Comes with the territory. I'm not a fan of Halle to begin with but in X1 she played Storm well and in X2 she acted different. That is all I'm saying. You don't have to agree and I wouldn't ask you to. It's that whole freedom of speech and thought thing we have going on.

You are right, we have our opinions...lets forget all this. And i never complained about your taste, i dont have this right. i just wanted to say that if Rogue isnt good, we cant blame Anna Paquin, because if she has anything to do with that, itss less than 10%. The bigger flaw is from the writers, and in that you agree with me.

Movie Rogue is boring, she does nothing except provide a cringing damsel in distress to be rescued.
Current Rogue in the comics isn't much better.
She needs to be taken back to her hotheaded super-powerhouse days.

I think it's too late to change the Rogue in the movies...it's too bad she wasn't more Rogue-alike but since the movie is an Alternate Universe then unfortunately we'll have to deal with the current Rogue... no expression

Rogue with Sunfire's powers is alright with me...
