But a judge tossed the defamation lawsuit that some idiot coal baron filed against HBO and John Oliver after Oliver aired a segment exposing the shitty and hypocritical practices that the coal company the guy runs engages in, and the shitty way the guy acts in general.

I get that they want to sound like rednecks, but it comes off sounding like Bill Cosby doing a mediocre impression of rednecks.

Listening to a favorite podcast, the hosts gave the perfect example of a leftist mindset:
They talk about how inter-employee dating and sexual relations, including hot tubs and such,,were common at the jobs they worked at back in the "freewheeling" days. They defend it as normal, something that just happened, and that few had problems with.
Then they go on how timss have changed, and that's unacceptable now.
It was ok, untill it wasn't ok.
I mean, it's not like morals aren't relative or anything. You couldn't possibly call the issue black and white, because then you can't defend your actions and justify laws against your actions the same time. Because it's all relative!

Don't be a jerk just to be a jerk, but if you are expressing your true inner feelings and beliefs, or at least trying to express that inner child, and everyone gets pissed off about it, never NEVER apologize for it. Let them think what they want, let them define you in their narrow little minds while they suppress every last piece of them just to keep a friend that never liked them for themselves in the first place.
